2. Contador - in tremendous form, maybe by week 3 just paying the price of a Giro/Tour double.
You gotta hope AC's kinda screwed by the Giro, because If he is in "tremendous form" as you say, he ain't loosing lol regadless of Froome's shape.
Same, except switch Nibali and Froome (will abandon - RV for sale week 2).LaFlorecita said:1 Contador

Someone we didn't think of will crack the top five and maybe even stand on the box.
Someone like this?

In 2013 he had a very good giro, 6th. In 2014 he should've improved, but didn't,finished behind Aru, Quintana. In the Tour somehow he pulled off 2 stages, that surspised me but at least one of them was from a breakaway. My prediction:WheelofGear said:5.Majka
1.Quintana
2.Froome
3.Nibali
4.AC
5.Pozzo/Pinot
If Quintana loses little time in the opening week then he will do well. In Vuelta last year he looked good before crashing, on par with AC and stronger then Froome. Admittedly, both were off form but so was Quintana. Froome will lose time on some of the uphill sprints and in the stage to Pra-Loup, Cauterets and Stage 18. Nibali will lose time in any big MTF, but make strong attacks in the stages mentioned above. AC will be too tired in the third week from what has been a difficult, fast Giro. He will join Nibali's attacks but be too tired. Pinot probably for 5th, but Pozzovivo if he is in form will take 5th.
You're seriously dumb if you think "the big 4" all will finish in top 5, mr. Degenkolb-can-win-Fleche-Wallone newb.

The top 4, by virtue of having individually greater chances to win he Tour than anyone else, form the most likely combination of riders for the top 4 places. Though it is not likely that they will, it is more likely than the scenario where you replace one or more of their names by a different rider.
If it helps, think of golf. It's more likely than not that Rory doesn't win the next major. But Rory is more likely to win the next major than everyone else. The Big 4 for aren't likely to finish 1 to 4, but they are still the most likely group of riders to finish 1 to 4. Combinations involving other riders are even less likely.
Nonetheless, with his incredible showing in the Ardennes, with Tour having hilly stages and time bonuses and with one of the great injustices of cycling being that Alejandro hasn't been on the podium of the Tour yet, I feel compelled to predict:
1. Dawg
2. Contador
3. Valverde
4. Nibali
5. Quintana
I hope Contador wins, though.

Froome will crash and abandon somewhere in the first week. Purito is underestimated by a lot of members here. He will play a big role this Tour.

Perhaps people don't know where to place him because of his season so far...he isn't the rider he used to be. I think his best bet would be to go for the KOM jersey or stage wins.
Yeah I noticed that tooILovecycling said:I cant believe my eyes, so many people believe in Giro-Tour double, situation has changed here, I remember the general opinion was opposite..interesting

I agree re Purito, I forgot about him. I would have him 4th maybe ahead of Pinot. Valverde is not as good in France usually.Arredondo said:1. Contador
