What about stability? Can you run Liege-Bastogne-Liege or Milano-San Remo on decent graphics settings without the game crashing due to memory leaks?

The database the game ships with is always terrible, but better fan-made ones usually come out quickly.

Does anyone actually know when this comes out on steam?

Allright just wanted to download from the site, but I don't get the confirmation e-mail. You should get that immediately don't you?

I hope they will improve the cars for the next version.

Pro Cycling Manager 2009. Giro 2015. My leaders Daniel Martin and John Lee Augustyn have terrorized the Italian mountain roads for a couple of years, with Augustyn finishing 3rd in 2014. But not this time! Here comes Dario Cataldo to win SIX mountain stages and the GC with some 7 minutes on Augustyn (2nd) and 8 on Martin (3rd).

Sorry, this should probably be in the Clinic.

Botero winning the Tour de France is up there in terms of randomness.

Here is some simple advice. This game is terrible and looks almost as worse as it plays. Find a real game on the 360, PS3, Wii or PC, whatever your system of preference is and invest the time in your favourite genre. If you need advice, let me know. I game online on the 360 and have always been good at video games since my childhood. I know a great deal about the industry and rest assured, this game is not worth purchasing, even if you can buy it for less than $10. Waste of time and money. If simulators are your thing, go pick up a Total War game or Civilization title. They are worth buying. This isn't.

The problem is there are not many manager-games, and I'm not talking about simulators, but really manager type games, such as pro football managers and pro cycling managers. And especially there are not many manager games that focus on cycling.

Anyway, who says this is all I play? I play enough games, know enough about the industry and know what I am likely to get from a PCM game to know that I want the games.

Has anyone around here actually tried the PSP version, I am tempted to get that, because I'm considering to buy a psp, or pspgo for the upcoming release of Valkyria Chronicles 2, and thus wonder what your opiniopns are, because if they are good, I might be tempted to pick that one up as well

Oh, is there cycling in Total War? :p

There are horses! Since this is the only cycling game, everyone is kind of stuck with it. I play games based on their quality or my perception of their quality...not because it tries to incorporate one of my favourite sports.

Nobody said this is all you play. Take another look at the graphics above. Outdated? Yes. But that is not what gameplay is about. Are there errors in the rendering and positioning of physical objects in the picture? Yes. Does this indicate there may be more errors? Yes. What are these errors the result of? Poor quality and bad design. The coding will be bad also. It always is. The design will thus be lacking in other management areas of the game, ie; designers failed to think about the users needs and desires. Have people here mentioned bugs? Yes.

All games have gremlins. The best have very few. The worst always have many and they are game breaking. I expect things to work smoothely. Hence why I hinted that unless is very, very cheap, it would be a waste of money and more importantly time. Also, who makes this game? I don't know and that for me is a bad sign. Quality developers are hard to come by. Good developers have great marketing and word of mouth. Only cycling fans would be aware of this game...another indicator it is crap. Sorry if you like it, this isn't personal. The gaming community, as a whole, do not apart from those that love cycling.

pull your head in. do they come round your place and tell you what you like to eat? same thing

people play games for different reasons. your reasons are not the same as other peoples reasons. personally, i don't like manager simulation games of any description so i won't play this one. These people have expressed their pleasure at playing these games so leave them alone

Pull your own head in. I never commented on the people who play this game. I commented about it's overall quality. I made it very clear that if you love cycling and wanted to play a game, then this is what you're stuck with. I never degraded the user, only the quality of the game. Perhaps if you read what was written and used your brain that much would be clear. People make choices...not knocking that. I was only posting a comment on this site because there are older forumist online here who may not have the experience in gaming I have. I was merely warning them that this game won't be getting it's own show at E3 (big game conference that coincidentally was on last week in LA) or winning any game of the year awards. I studied a Comp. Sci degree major in Games Tech, so I know about the details behind game design and programming. This game is poorly made and people should be made aware so as to not have their hopes dashed.

Kindly tell me who "they" are. I've been wanting to find out for well over a decade. If 'they' turned up to my house to tell me what to eat 'they' would be told to **** off to where 'they' came from.

Galic... we get it. You don't like the game. We understand.

I enjoy playing it. While it could be better in many areas, it's good enough to hold my interest... in fact it holds it much better then a lot of other games that are well designed, graphically superior and have less bugs.

What's the point of a well designed first person shooter if I don't enjoy first person shooters?

I like sports games. I like sim/strategy games. This is both. It's also about a sport I like to watch in real life. I'll probably buy it. I'm probably not going to buy the next super-awesome gamers choice way cool graphics cut-em-up shoot-em-up magic mario sit on a mushroom mmorpg starwars superman game... no matter how well it is programmed.

The problem with this type of reasoning is the problem of supply and demand. In the case of PCM it is the case of a niche type game, a manager sim, concerning an even more niche type sport, cycling, even Pro Football Manager is not a big game and has more than enough faults, that is concerned with probably the most popular sport in the world. This practically ensures that the game does not make a lot of money, which is directly correlative to the money spent in the production. The bigger the perceived audience for the game the bigger the budget, it is simple economics. This means that a game such as PCM will probably never win any awards.

I have the psp version 2008. It's alright and can fill an hour on a plane, train for someone who is not a 'gamer'. Should have an option though to flag someone as a doper as seeing rico **** past you on a mountain finish is a bit galling. Never mind Schumacher winning tt's.
