This is my road bike.
Custom Ti Baum made by Darren Baum out in Geelong, Australia - http://baumcycles.com/
Flew over there from NZ in 07 to get fitted and select the fit out.

Currently is a state of bits and pieces as I focus on the MTB right now and slowly swap out my 10spd Campy Record to DA 9000.

Ritchey WCS Carbon Post, Stem and Bars, Chris King Headset, Easton EC90 Fork with Decals removed and replaced with Baum decals.
Paint job is the same as the pic, Black fading to nude Ti.
Fizik Arione saddle
Time Pedals
Baum Ti bottle cages
Mavic Open Pro's laced to White Industries Hubs

I do want electronic because I know 2 people who run Di and it never works properly most of the time.

this doesn't quite make sense ray? batteries going flat that should not and also not working as it should in the rain.

you guys still hammering out the SRAM Vs Campy Vs Shimano thing??

why no love for the FSA electronic groupset :D I mean, they only started talking about an 11spd groupset back in 2008 :roll eyes:

why no love for Tiso 12 speed electric ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4U_BUqc87g8

"Spam and shimano mechanical both shift one higher gear at a time for the rear Der. No 'multiple higher gear at a time' except for ......Campagnolo."
So you are telling me that when I shift across 3 or four cogs in one single paddle hold my bike is magic powers.
I have had Red for years. hold the paddle down and you can shift across many cogs just like 7800.

I read the 'reviews' from knobs who get a bunch of stuff for free and say nice things about it as 'payment'. I know 2 guys who have warrantied a total of 3 levers, a red rear Der and a big chainring...anecdotal evidence is just that. There is a reason only 1 team had spam in the pro peloton, other teams that were offered it turned it down, even tho free. BMC and Garmin...such Junque.[/quote]

Have you seen my bikes , here's my Trek http://www.starbike.com/galleries/?id=23 . look at my red set up .. I ride this bike nearly everyday no issues what so ever. Those components Levers mechs have worked fine for years [ cursed myself now]... and I ride the fudge out of my bikes. real life evidence.

That's lovely! I remember when I first saw a Baum in a magazine over here (cyclist I think it was). The paint job and finishing kit on it was awesome. This one!

This could seriously tempt me away from a traditional track frame if I ever got into riding the boards.

Andy Schleck loved his SRAM

Stupid remark who won the tour that year ? Contador ,Oh yeah riding Sram Red.

No, not really Ray.
Your highly reactionary responses and emotional attachment to a piece of cycling groupset is perhaps what is questionable.

Unless you have ridden Shimano DA, Campag Record & Super Record along with SRAM at length through multiple scenarios and conditions - your comments and opinions can only be taken with several grains of salt.
As above, the stance that this is what I ride, therefore it is the best...... is stupid!
Along with, "my friend did this" "my mechanic said that".....i know a guy / gal who thinks (insert groupset of choice here) is rubbish etc etc is also just going to fall on deaf ears.

why do so many if your threads / posts turn into a weight weenie bashing or SRAM bashing vitriol??
we all know your stance or position on this

as for my Any Schleck comment - no, not stupid.
his SRAM failure in that tour did more harm & damage to that companies reputation than did Contador winning on it
as BK alluded to above.....how many PT Teams run SRAM these days?? - This speaks volumes, would't you say?

Anyways - can't we all just relax on the Shimano V's SRAM Vs Campagnolo thing??
It gets tired and boring real fast especially amongst the usual suspects in here.

can we get back to posting nice pics of cool bike stuff?
isn't that the MO of your thread Ray?

I do like the look of cannondales crank.
+1 on that, the spider cranks they have do look damn fine!
I've had SiSL cranks on two of my bikes in the past and they are excellent, probably the best on the market (excluding super high end rare stuff).

Is that your ride Benotti?

That's a beautiful bike!

Nope.

I ride steel. I have an Italian steel frame( Columbus Cromor) made by Barletti, circa 1990. He made some frames for LeMond, apparently. Campy nuovo record on mine :)

The Colnago colours are very Baum'ish, Ritte etc and i think the seat post and stem should be black.
