Who is the best/most rounded puncheur currently? Can be classics or stage race finishes.

For a race that finishes on a steep climb, who would be favorite or top 3: eg.
1km @ 20%?
1km @ 15%?
1km @ 10%?

Based on above, what sort of finish can be designed to most suit a specific rider for a victory? eg. Moreno, Sanchez, Dan Martin, etc.

Most likely still Gilbert.

Nice poll, should have been made public though.

On top form 1.Gilbert 2. Purito.

Although you can't really call Purito a puncheur. He's an explosive climber.

At 10%, he can be challenged I guess, 15% top shape Murito wins, anything 20% and Murito is invincible. :)

If you say +15%, there's only Purito.

10-15%, there's Purito, but also Piti, Betancur, Henao, Martin etc.

Less than 10%, i say you've got Sagan, Kwiat and so on...

Even Cancellara can do well on these kind of finishes.

With all due respect- but Gilbert should be removed from this poll since he's done nothing over the last 2 years to qualify for it.

The 2012 Worlds were not only less than two years ago, but also arguably the highest-profile single puncheurs' finish within that period.

Currently it is Purito. Two years ago I would have said Gilbert. Purito was the best at higher gradients even then, but Gilbert was even better at the Cauberg style climbs.

Still J-Rod by a distance.
Betancur might be able to challenge in the future.

In the future?

Purito doesn't have much left at top, there will be new pretender taking his crown.

And for now I am saying Daniel Martin.

Betancur or Henao next in line.

P.S. Why is Martin not on the list ???

P.S.2. Right now? Purito of course.

I'm not so sure if Purito will be able to keep his no.1 spot in puncheur category this year, but for now:

1. Purito
2. Moreno
3. Henao
4. Betancur
5. Gerrans

For me he's good enough on lower slopes. And puncheur is not only the guy who can climb fast on 20% but also challenge sprinters on 4%

Fair enough. Gerrans does pack a great sprint indeed, I wouldn't put him Top 5, but hes a very smart rider that knows how to win.

Uuummm, the only rider in the poll who is listed by his p*ss take nickname, wins hands down.

Take away "p*ss take" and you have your answer.

To be honest, even if you are going by a mixture of present and past (since clearly Gilbert can't possibly win on present alone), Rebellin probably beats him
