And, as luck would have it, Xacobeo-Galicia have already scouted the Bola del Mundo climb back in July of this year (how the heck did they know it was going to be this close?!) while they were taking part in the Vuelta a Madrid:

More pics.

This is going to be an awesome day for cycling.

Venga Nibali!

You can do it!

Look's like the Bola del Mundo stage is going to be mighty decisive. If push comes to shove Purito will help Mosquera, otherwise the media will crucify him. But, before that, Xacobeo-Galicia have to control the race to ensure Ezequiel can come in # 1 and get the 20 second time bonus.

I think it can be done. I think the Spaniard can do it. Francesco is not that strong and he will be attacked left and right up the Bola del Mundo. If Cotobello gave him problems... he's certainly not going to enjoy kilometers 18 to 22 of the Bola del Mundo climb. Any signs of weakness and he will be "skinned" alive.

Why I can see Rodriguez wanting to help get Mosquera the win because his own hopes are over, how realistic is this? I think that Rodriguez's main goal is to jump ahead of the Schleck and Vellits to try to get back on the podium. Granted Vellits is nearly 2 minutes ahead of him, but that is nearly the same gap that Rodriguez beat him by in Stage 16.

What awesomness from J rod.

Owns both mountain stages.

3rd best climber in the world.

I think he actually might be able to challenge Gilberts lead in World Tour. 2nd places in Amstel Fleche, then 5th in Giro now 2 Dauphine stages, a good position, and hopefully more to come in September.

I said this in the other thread, but a shame he miss timed his peak for the giro.

Yep he sure looked purely on peak when he destroyed everyone on D'Allevard.

It was clear he was coming good right at the end of the giro. I truly believe he could have come close to 2nd on that parcours.

Repeat

They should take him to the Tour. He clearly wasn't in form during the Giro. Now he's good and he's immediately going to take a holiday while they ride for Karpets in July? I say boo! He should ride the Tour if he wants, which he did before the season started.

Giro will be a much too big of stretch. He'll be absolutely wrecked at half way point.

He could just go for stage victories. There are always opportunities for guys that can climb and finish. I mean I don't want to see the guy wreck himself, but I suspect he'd like to capitalise on the form he's finally found.

He'll lose it but, rather see him rebuild and be great at vuelta.

I'll have to ride well at the time trial of the Vuelta a España in Salamanca. If I don't lose more than two or three minutes there, I can't lose the overall ranking because I'm confident that I'll gain more than that in the mountains."

Confident guy, Anton might beg to differ though!

Tchmil wants an All-Russian squad.
And if Tchmil wants something...

Stupid question...is it Joaquin or Joaquim? The title (and a lot of other places) have an "m" at the end, but plenty of other places have it with an "n" as well (I believe his UCI license calls him Joaquin Rodriguez Oliver). Help?
