His Giro team could be a very strong one. Purito, Taaramäe, Van den Broeck, Restrepo, Machado, Losada, Vicioso.

And Paolini + Caruso if they are allowed to race.

I doubt they will let Restrepo ride the Giro. I think he will not compete a GT in his first year, and if so, only La Vuelta.

And Caruso and Paolini will not return in the WT anymore.

And VDB will likely do the Tour.

Purito confirmed his presence in the Giro?

I saw in interview with him some weeks ago (don't know where now, tbh) where he said that for now his objectives are the Tour and then straight to Rio.

I also heard that. But he waits till the routes are known. But his objective is indeed to ride the Tour and go to Rio with super-compensation.

And if Rio is a big goal, it's perhaps better to ride the Tour instead of the Giro.

Paolini will be at katusha again next year. 100%

I think Caruso will be there and race. I'm predicting a Kreuziger situration.

Paolini, I'm less sure about. Maybe if he agrees to go to rehab in the winter months?

Do you know the Kreuziger situation? Irregulaties in his bio-passport.

Caruso tested positive on EPO (retrospective). Really different situations.

If the B-sample of Caruso is positive too (which would be logical), his career is over.

But we haven't heard anything about it yet. Neither with the Paolini case. I wouldn't be surprised if they are riding in 2016 like nothing had happened.

UCI is slow as fawk.

With Paolini it could be. With Caruso no way. Also Katusha has suspend him till the result of the B-sample is there. So they will not let him ride races next year if there's no conclusion in that case.

But i think we will know the destiny of Giampaolo in a month.

Do you think it would be a disadvantage for him without his two "lead-out men". These three riders basically identical. Moreno is a slightly weaker version of Purito. And Caruso is a slightly weaker version of Moreno.

Maybe that's where Taaramäe comes in? But he doesn't seem super-punchy to me.

Too bad he can not participate. I really thought he could have won :(

Good thing now however is that he also likely he isn't going to start in Dubai. Which means he can take some rest and start building to next season.

I feel bad for him, he has had bad luck lately. I was expecting a new episode of the valverde versus purito show. Well, it will have to be next season. Very good racer and very good person.

What bad luck has he had lately? Too bad he can't participate in Lombardia though.

Ok, maybe not this year, but in the past one. He has had injuries, and with his age its hard.

You can say what you want, but Purito is a pure climber. Not on the level of Conta, but he's a pure climber.

Just ask Rujano :D

Purito is sh*ttier than Conta in flat/windy stages and in ITT, so in that aspect he's even more of a pure climber.

A "pure climber" term doesn't refer to a rider who only can climb and can't do nothing else. Pure climber is someone who can climb tremendously, who is natural, who climbs with ease, with fluid style, a joy to watch. It doesn't exclude other skills of cycling, you can be a pure climber and a good time trialist, or fast on the line, or a good descender. It's a quality more. For example Contador, he can TT pretty well, and who can say he's not a pure climber when anybody who saw him ride knows he's born for climbing. And so is Purito, theirs TT have nothing to do with that!
Hold up. I would describe Juan Mauricio Soler and Fernando Escartín as pure climbers, but their styles were ugly as sin.

errr.

You mean he said 1 rehearsed sentence?

Still, I won't get on Murito for language skills since in Italy he actually speaks Italian while Contador just speaks Spanish with hand gestures

It was a joke.

And i know he speaks Italian very well. And a bit French too.

This is actually his first bad luck this season (because i think the illnes before Catalunya was actually a good thing, because he rode and won Pais Vasco, which he would not rode if he did Catalunya).

2014 was a really bad year in terms of injuries. But apart from that, he hardly had any bad luck since his arrival at Katusha. Some small things (crashes in Amstel), but that's it.

His 2013 Amstel crash was not good either. Arguably without that crash he could have won Fleche and/or Liege.

Is it somehow worse to not be able to speak Italian than it is to not be able to speak English or are you just having another dig at Contador?

He is an explosive climber. Definitely not a puncheur.

Puncheur/Explosive climber-ratio:

Albasini: 95/5
Gilbert: 90/10
Gallopin 80/20
Vuillermoz: 75/25
Alaphilippe 70/30
Martin: 60/30
Valverde 25/75
Moreno 20/80
Purito: 10/90
Henao: 5/95

Other riders like Gerrans are on the Puncheur/Sprinter-ratio.
Two Monuments at 90% is pretty good. :D

shouldn't be too hard for Contador to speak other languages considering he says the same 3 sentences every time.
