Question about content vs ad loading

In the last few weeks I've noticed some slow loading of content on the CN website. Now the first thing that pops up is the advert column on the right hand side. Then I get about 30 seconds of waiting with the message

"Looking up pagead2.googlesyndication.com..."

Can CN change the load order for content versus ads...i.e. give content priority over "THE CLYMB" and all the junk?

We have, but unfortunately it's not possible with the Google ads.
