Yep, he will do the triple.
This seems inevitable. Perhaps around the time he Podiums this year's tour of California?

Interview with Horner on the move to Lampre and the Giro.

peloton: Can you win the Giro?

Horner: Yes. But the real question with the Grand Tours isn’t whether you can win it. I know you guys always want to know that, but the question with the Grand Tours is, Can you get through the first week safe? Only then you can start talking about whether you can win.

Look at the Vuelta last year with stage 2, a climbing stage. That changed the whole chemistry of the race. It destroyed 170 guys’ dreams of winning a Grand Tour. That’s a reality check right on the spot. When it’s flat the first week, everybody’s motivated and believes he can win or help his teammate win. An early climbing stage changes the race immensely, because everybody’s a little more tired and not as fresh, and their form is not the 100 percent they thought it was.

The Vuelta suited me because there was just one individual time trial and the heat, which I enjoy. I’d rather it be 100 degrees than 65 degrees. I’d race in 100 degrees every day if you asked me. Really hot stage races are what’s best for me.

Interesting interview, thanks for the link. So he is getting incentives, which makes sense.

I'm a bit concerned about the Giro though, it's generally more than "slightly cooler" than the Vuelta, last year the weather was totally miserable in fact! Some years like 2009 it's a lot better though, so who knows...

Why was Horner wearing black bands around his wrists during the Vuelta last year? Never seen any rider do that before.

sounds like he still got quite a lot of money and especially with bonusses. seems he really did want to cash in on his results no matter what

With bonus he will make a decent pay. Think about it, lampre would be stupid to offer a high base.

Now we can follow the money trail as Horner attempts to get unto the podium in two GTs.

If Horner does the triple I will only eat hamburgers all my life...I'm serious...:D

Niemec should be Lampre leader over Cunego anyday. He deserves that chance after all those years of hard work for his team-mates.Also what did Cunego done in the last 5 years ?

yeah hopefully that strong giro field does its job hard for me to see him behing ok for both grand tours given his history of illness etc.

The weather at the Vuelta last year was miserable as well, at times. I seem to remember the stage to Andorra in pouring rain?

No one really knows, the black bands were seen on a number of Radioshack riders including Cancellara, Schleck, Bakelants, etc.

Another good read here : http://velonews.competitor.com/2014...erfect-fit-can-still-eat-cheeseburgers_315447

Lots of bonuses at play, TdF not ruled out...

Good one.. I asked Chris at the start of Peña Cabarga stage if he still ate burgues, and he told me not yet till the end of the Vuelta, but Guercilea said he ate someone during the Vuelta...He must have a curious metabolism, becouse is not a very healthy food.

I would like to see him in the Tour as leader, just for all that people that said that in the Tour he cant succed as in the Vuelta, just for,,, Tour dont allow that victory... but obviously, Giro and especially Vuelta, suit more for him.

why would he waste his giro/vuelta combo chance for a top 10 at the tour? doubt he will ride the tour until he is 47 or 48.

Is that his secret to eternal life?

Which, after his 6 Giro-Vuelta doubles, will be his 14th consecutive GT win (Dawg will have retired, so it's Horner all the way!). :D
