So we are going to have to have a '"Insert Team Here" eff'd up big time! those wimps! thread' after every race now?

+1. I think this thread lowers the tone of the whole Professional road racing subforum.

Shouldn't moaning about team performances be left to the race thread, instead of ridiculous, childish gloating. I visit this forum to read about Rabo and BMC, not to see which of their fans wins the biggest fan contest. Bit fed up of seeing threads that have clearly been set up just to feed certain users' desperate need for attention and validation, to be honest.

I thought Rabo dominated the race as we've seen them do almost every year. They just didn't have it at the end.

You don't have to worry, I won't be posting that often around here anymore.

Come on, ACF. I like to read your posts a lot of the time, but what did you expect with this? I think starting this thread was a poor decision, that's all. It was pure Rabo-bashing when they did a great race and just didn't have the legs at the end (as all the post-race stuff is now saying). Anyway, that was yesterday. Today's another day.

The problem with looking for validation from others is that it can backfire sometimes. Don't take your bat home now, self-soothe and just get on with it. Start posting the good stuff again. :)

Why so I think you should still be an active member in this forum you contribute a lot and your posts are interesting and we need somebody to lead the bmc charge:D. Maybe if you just learned from some of your mistakes people would stop picking on you.

Rabobank were simply outgunned by a better team and a much better rider on the day as were all of the other teams. Only Schleck's effort prolonged the inevitable. Were Gesink an Friere seriously going to challenge Gilbert on the final climb ? No. He went past Rodriguez like he was standing still and Rodriguez went so early, he hoped to surprise Gilbert as he knew that was the only chance to beat him. Gilbert was expecting the attack and won easily. If Gesink had not cramped, he possibly could have made third place at best. I don't think Rabobank can be too surprised or dejected by the outcome of the race.

+1. Agree with every word.

Except the last one.

of course it was selective, they were found wanting and knew they were done. And they knew this a reasonable way from the finish, which is why they pulled the plug on their attempts to podium.
or don't you think that makes the course "selective"?

I think with this being the first of the 3 Ardennes classics riders that are scheduled to compete in FW and/or LBL shut it down to rest for the next event when they see they're out of contention.

You apparently can dish it but can't take it. This thread would fall under that category of posts/threads similar to what you referred to one of my posts: as "idiotic". If you're going to call other posters out in such dramatic and insulting fashion, you really shouldn't be surprised when the same comes back to you rapid fire. This is simply the thread that never should've been started
You've just confirmed my opinion of you as an immature whiner that takes his ball and goes home when things don't go his way. I for one won't miss you while you're home feeling sorry for yourself.

Definately, but I was looking at it by how far out from the end (or how early) they find themselves out of contention. They then back off and look towards the next race

Freire about Rabobank in El País: "They prefer a 3rd place from Gesink over a win from me (in Amstel)", and "sometimes they don't race to win, like in Brabantse Pijl".

Freire was free to stay on Gilbert's wheel and beat him. In both cases.

You can flame your teammates all you like, but this makes no sense.

He's not saying he would have won it with team support, he's just stating that they favor the Dutchies over him. And he's absolutely right. Rabobank has little to do with any of Freire's wins. Sure, they carry his water bottles and stuff, but that's just basic help.

That's just BS. They've been pulling on the front quite often for him, actually. Even Gesink himself, in multiple Pais Vasco editions, the Tour de Suisse, etc. But in the past years Freire rarely converts that into a win.

Now has Freire ever done anything for Gesink, other than insult him in the press? Not really.

I hear he also insults him in private.

the last 8 years they basically always rode for Freire in the AGR and even some editions of the RVV and he always failed to deliver.
He was still free to do what he wanted and still did not win. Hilarious

In the last 8 years Freire has won three monuments, eight grand tour stages, one green jersey and one World Championship, and that's just the highlights. I think he's earned the right to a little support in races he wants to win, even if they don't suit him terribly well.
