STAGE 12: Parma - Fidenza (ITT) 32 kms
Flat and straight time trial, for pure power. It is quite short because I wanted to design a Giro that was "feasible" by current standards... :(

STAGE 15: Nice (FRA) - Sampeyre 225 kms
Here's the queen stage! The peloton enters Italy through de Lombarde, then climbs the Cima Coppi of this Giro, the legendary Colle della Fauniera, and finally the decisive climb of the Sampeyre, before finishing in the town at the foot of it.

STAGE 16: Verona - Montebelluna 161 kms
After the last rest day, the peloton heads to the awesome Montello, where it will climb 4 of its Prese. The first and the third are on sterrato, while the others (as well as all the descents) are on tarmac.

Yes, it doesn't work so well. I did all by hand. For some climbs I've put the "official" data, but for most of them I picked start and finish point in the software itself.
 
STAGE 18: Udine - Villa Santina 164 kms
First of three consecutive days in the mountains which will decide the race. We start with a very demanding stage in Friuli. The key point of the stage is the climb of Forca di Pani, which I would really like to see used in RL one day...

STAGE 20: Riva del Garda - Trescore Balneario 205 kms
Last chance for the GC, with quite an unconventional mountain stage. The Giro could be decided on the ramps of the Colli di San Fermo, and the bumpy terrain that follows.

Giro del Trentino

Stage 4 Levico terme - Erbezzo; 187km

This is the final stage of my Giro del Trentino and it's a hard mountain stage, but what else would you expect from Trentino?:)
The stage starts in Levico Terme and after 5 flat km we have the first short climb of the day up to Vigolo Vattaro, 9,8km at 4,8%, a nice easy climb to establish the breakaway.
After a gentle descent and 5 km of false flat the next climb starts, Passo Bordala, 18,1km at 6% but with 4,5km of false flat in the middle of the climb, the steepest ramps have a max. gradient of 15%.
The descent is very regular, but the second part is pretty technical.
After that we have 26 rolling km, until Punta Veleno starts, 8,5km at 12,1% a brutal steep climb that should be able to break a few legs.
The descent is nothing special, but right after it the next climb already starts, Monte Baldo from Caprino, 26,2km at 5,2% with the final 9,2km at 8,4%.
After a long technical descent and 5km of false flat the final climb of the day starts, Passo delle Fittanze della Sega from Sdruzzina, 13,5km at 9,1% with a max gradient of 23%, a real monster.
The descent is only 5km long and the final 2km that will bring the riders to Erbezzo are flat.
I really like this stage and i think Punta Veleno-Monte Balo-Passo delle Fittanze della Sega is an awesome combination, the first climb is so steep that it will do some damagee and break a few legs even if they try to softpedal it, after that the second climb is a long drag here you can use your team to isolate your opponents and set a high pace to build up fatigue.
After that the final climb is a real monster that has the potential to crate huge gaps and the descent finish should encourage the riders to attacks early.
I'd love to see this awesome combination in the Giro, you could even use Monte Bondone from Trento, 19,3km at 7,5% right at the beginning of the stage before Passo Bordala to make that stage even harder, another hard climb before Punta Veleno could make a big difference.

EDIT: If the data of that stage was all true, it would feature three of the hardest climbs ever... :eek:

I have tried to make the climbs more accurate than they were before. Sorry about the confusion.;)

Today we start in the seaside town of Saint Raphael. We will then head up into the hills towards the first prime at Grasse. Following that, the riders will keep on climbing towards a the peak of a climb from stage 6. This is the catorgory two climb of the Col de Val Ferriere. This was climbed in the opposite direction before. While on a slight dip before we start the descent properly, we cross the line of the second prime at Seranon. From here there is a slight uphill section before quite a steady descent down into the Var valley river. At the bottom we head through the final prime at Saint Martin du Var. From here it is 24 kilometres to the finish at the town of Cagnes sur Mer. This was the host of a stage start of the the 2013 Tour with Mark Cavendish winning the stage that finished in Marseille. The Tour also passed through the town in 2009 when Cavendish won in Brignoles.

Very nice Giro Eshnar, I especially like the pacing of the stages (The three really good hilly stages [2, 10 & 16] are all followed by a flat stage, so nothing blocking the riders from attacking, none of the TTs are placed so they block the stage before and the two stages before a rest day both invite riders to go deep). I will say that I'm a little surprised by the low altitude of the Dolomite stages, but it's nice that it isn't back-loaded so that climbers/attackers won't just wait for the last week, but forced to make use of the opportunities you have given them.

thanks :) I wanted to go "easy" in the Dolomites because I wanted to keep the number of big climbs into realistic standards... my Giro has 8-9 HCs (by PRC definition), which is already a pretty big number, but nothing the real Giro hasn't done in the past.

For the final stage, have stage that is similar to the final stage of the 2014 event and my Classique des Alpes Maritimes. Their are some differences betweent them all. First of all the big difference is the start. This stage starts in the harbour of Cagnes sur mer. The riders will then head up the Var river valley, to the first prime at Saint Martin du Var. This is only 24 kilometres into the stage, so quite an early prime. This means that if the GC pretty tight up at the top the peloton might not let the a break go from kilometre zero. From here they carry on for a short time next to the main river before heading up towards the first climb of the day. This is the C?te de Duranus. It is a catorgory two. From here there is a short descent before climbing an uncatorgised climb. After that the riders shall ascend the C?te de Ch?teauneuf. This is also a catorgory two. At the bottom of the descent, the riders will pass through the second prime at Contes. Once out of the this town the riders will climb up to the top of the catorgory two Col de Cala?son. Here they will descend to the bottom of the Col de la Madone. In the Paris - Nice of 2014, it is listed as the Col de Peille, as they head down a bit before the peak in the village of Peille. The more well known side was and and still is used as a testing climb by many a top pro who bases themselves in the Nice/Monaco/Menton area. The riders wil descend down the side that was covered in a video by GCN. From here they will ride into Menton. After that they will ride out of the town and bypass the principality of Monaco. The riders shall start climbing the Col d'Eze from La Turbie. With the descent the same as used as the climb in the 2013 time trial they will hit the main part of the city of Nice before climbing the uncatorgorised Col de Villefranche. They shall descend this little climb before riding round the rocky outcrop of Mont Boron into the marina. With about a kilometre to go, the riders shall enter the finish straight on the Promenade des Anglais.

That Cronoescalada site looks great. I'm going to make a stab at a five day Tour of Dublin. I was excited when it was announced that the Giro was coming here but disappointed with the final route that went through a couple of anonymous suburbs and run down docklands, although obviously the Nordies put up most of the money so they got the showcase. It will also bring to mind memories of the 80's heyday of the Nissan Classic, but based in one city with plenty of nice hotels as is popular for races like the TDU etc these days.

The stages will be:
1. an urban time trial to introduce the riders, like the 1998 TdF prologue but a little longer to create gaps big enough to force the climbers to attack.
2. a flat stage designed to maximise echelons by staying perpendicular to our prevailing westerly winds.
3. a stage with a cobbled finishing circuit of 5 x 10km using the cobbles of Smithfield, Christchurch, Temple Bar, etc, and a short, steep classics style climb.
4. a mountain top finish (don't laugh) on the Cat 1 Kippure summit.
5. a long stage in the Wicklow mountains with as many Cat 2 climbs as I can fit in and almost no flat sections except the last couple of km which will finish in the Sundrive concrete velodrome because a) I'm ripping off Paris Roubaix and b) people will laugh when they see it's in Kimmage.
