Race Radio, anti-RR, Polish and Twitter Campaigns

Actually his tweets have made me angry for a whole host of reasons - RR harassment obviously. But one tweet saying that livestrong saved his life and taught him how to fight, makes me want to vomit. Lets cut the bulls*** - we've all been affected. Lets keep the how much we've been affected to ourselves. But one thing I do know, as Paul Kimmage said, some get lucky, some don't. Fighting it is a load of bullsh**. Sorry if I offend on that one, but it's something I feel strongly about.

Wonder if smear campaigns full under the same part of "Program expenses" as Jet Fuel and trips to the Yellow Rose?

Would they fly to to Austin on Livestrong's dime?

For me, this is the most disturbing part of this game: You can bet your *** you'd be sitting across the table from a number of attorneys if you made that trip. There would be some intense pressure to sign some documents, along with some veiled (or explicit) threads against your livelihood. Of course, no questions would be answered.

I'd like to allude to what Mike has said above - surely some journalists would be interested in this - Maybe i should contact Walsh and kimmage, tell them not to fly to Augusta, that there's internet warfare going on instead. :)

He has threatened to call the dean of my school about the twitters I sent him. He says that Monday, I am in big trouble and will be meeting with the dean over it. That guy is beyond stupid.

How did he learn the name of your school, and your name? Don't you post anonymously?

If I thought for a moment that I would get some genuine answers I would make the trip. Their response has been so toxic that I know that this would not be the case.

My intention was to get answers. I have heard many people say that Livestrong helped them, but when asked how the answers are always vague..."Hope". This is certainly a fine thing but with $40 million coming in each year it would be nice to know how it is spent.

Their public numbers and various sponsorships are vague. There are clearly many people that do not understand their mission or how they use their funds......hey, most people still think Livestrong is working on a cure for cancer. It is in their own best interest to clear up this confusion, unless they have something to hide.

I set up mine yesterday and I'm afraid it's anything but...........they're both following each other. Mental stuff. But POlish is mental, so it's probably right.

Right there on the Kit cool.

You and me setting up Twitter accounts helped the Team in a small way I suppose.

mod comment: this thread was originally part of the "news about LA" thread, but has been split off as it started to take over. It deals with the appearance of the Anti-race Radio twitter account. It should make it easier to follow this particular discussion, or ignore it, depending on your interests and preferences. This thread was not started by Granville57, but his post is taken as the starting point for this off-shoot.

How about this...

Quite entertaining
Anti-Race Radio on Twitter

Granville57, how did you come across the "Antiraceradio" twitter guy/gal?

I setup a twitter account based on your link btw.
Figured Anti-Race was a clinic dude, so I befriended/'"followed" him/her...

It was interesting that Lance himself started following both ARR and me so soon after your post...

Are you a Public Strategy intern/mole/double-agent by any chance?

Yea, I posted anonymously. He knows my first name only (not sure how he got that?), and I am guessing he knows this forum and deduced that there is only one law school in Charlotte. If he wants to play "I will mess with your personal life" he is going to be shocked when an officer shows up to serve him with a restraining order.

As it happens, I was reading an article by someone interested in cults, and came across this passage:

control of the lives of members by the group leader, dogma and wisdom attributed to the group leader, manipulation of group members with deception and under false pretenses, front groups without designating what the group is, claimed supreme authority of the group leader, very expensive or exorbitant fees to take part in the group, extreme social coercion to think like everyone else (which has been referred to as "brainwashing"), being coerced or socially influenced to break away from family and friends who are not favorable to the group, and in the worst and most dangerous of these groups there can be violence, sexual violations, and inflicted trauma.

There is also this set of criteria, each of which can be ranked on a scale of 1-10, with the total score reflecting how dangerous the cult may be http://www.integralworld.net/falk.html:

Internal Control. Degree to which the cult tries to determine the behavior of its members.
Wisdom Claimed: amount of infallibility the cult claims for its decisions.
Wisdom Credited: to leaders by members, amount of trust in the decisions made by leaders.
Dogma: rigidity of reality concepts taught, of amount of doctrinal inflexibility.
Recruiting: emphasis put on attracting new members, amount of proselytizing.
Front Groups: number of subsidiary groups using different name from the main group.
Wealth: amount of money and/or property demanded from members
Political Power: amount of external political influence wielded by the cult.
Sexual Manipulation: of members by leaders, amount of control over the lives of members.
Censorship: amount of control over members' access to outside opinion on the group, its doctrines or leaders.
Dropout Control: intensity of efforts directed at preventing or returning dropouts.
Endorsement Of Violence: when used by or for the group or leaders.
Paranoia: amount of fear concerning real or imagined enemies, perceived power of opponents.
Grimness: amount of disapproval concerning jokes about the group, its doctrines or leaders.
Surrender Of Will: emphasis on members not having to be responsible for personal decisions.

Very few if any cults have high ratings on all of these criteria, but most have high ratings on some of them, so that the total rating is high. Someone might be interested in rating LIvestrong.

Wow, things are heating up on the Interwebs. I'll stay out of the fray for now. The one thing I'll point out is that the actual Livestrong account might more or less auto-follow. I'm pretty sure they followed me back in the foolish days when I followed them, but right now they "follow" 85,000 people, so it's not like anyone is paying attention.

Interesting

I noticed that a few Livestrong executives were following me on Twitter. I asked them if I could ask them some questions, they said yes and gave me the email of their lead spokesperson. I sent her the following questions via email.

Their response was to tell me they could only answer them if I flew to Austin and met them in Austin. They then launched an internet smear campaign against me. Perhaps the most entertaining part of this is how they are now claiming they have answered my questions. They have not answered anything, instead started a smear campaign designed to deflect from my questions.

So there is no confusion this is what I wrote. I had no intention of making this public and did not do so until a large group of them started attacking me on Twitter.

I've got to say that it is really revolting that the Livestrong charity and the Lance Armstrong moneymaking brand are so closely linked together. The IRS doesn't like that kind of BS.

That part I can help you with: a number of times members of this forum have addressed you by your first name (I suppose to demonstrate their close acquaintance).

First things first:
I've never really understood why you get grouped in, and willing align yourself, with the likes of Flicker and Cobblestoned. Because to me, your posts are always much more finely crafted and by far more entertaining, on the whole. In fact, it's a shame the many people never get to see some of your finest work because it gets instantly deleted by the mods (like the one that caused your short-term ban several weeks ago—that was a work of art!). It's rare that I don't get a good chuckle out of your contributions here.

But THIS! This is whole new level of laughter for me!
For if I were here at the behest of PS or any other entity, then I'd be dialing up Manrod and Assoc. and filing a lawsuit of my own, because I have yet to receive a penny for all my valuable time spent here.

The answer to your question is actually quite pedestrian.
I was on the twitter home page (no need for an account, or to be signed in) and decided to put raceradio into the search window. I suppose I was just too lazy to type in the full url for his page. Plus, it's often interesting to see what the buzz is and what latest gossip is getting traded around.

Lo and behold! Antiraceradio appeared in the drop-down search options. That was too much to resist! You see, I hadn't actually typed in theraceradio, just raceradio. In fact, raceradio by itself doesn't even show up in the immediate choices. Perhaps that's the result of alphabetical listings? Which has given me a new idea!

I'm going to start my own aarddvark-anti-raceradio twitter account which will inevitably place me higher in the instant search menu. My agenda will be to agree with everything that antiraceradio spews forth but in a manner so obnoxious that I'll be "mocked and blocked" by as many believers as possible. The result will be utter twitter chaos as those on the outside try to figure out just who is a trusted source and who is imitating who.

Of course I've already got my avatar picked out. I like to think of it as the anti-Granville57...in more ways than one.

Of course I'll just have to add a Livestrong "twibbon" to it. ;)

Should I point out that while reading the twaddle sent forth by the minions, I came across the Twitter Livestrong page on which the profile clearly, states, "Lie STRONG".
I kid you not.
Should we tell them?

It's actually the Livestrong HQ page.
Gawd, this keeps getting richer.

b) I have been mentioned as a friend along with Bono of Puh Puh polish as a tweet pal.

As my friend Borat says: VERY NICE!

The Livestrong account may "auto follow" - 85,000 people.
But Lance himself only follows a handful - 200 or so.

And the fact that Lance began following the new ARR twitter account minutes after Granville57's link in "The Clinic", and began following the twitter account I started a few moments later might indicate that Lance was reading the forum at that very moment in time?

As a 21 year old female what should I do? Just relax?

Just kidding.
Lance recognizes Quality FanBoyism when he see it.
LazerLike Focus.
Or maybe Granville57 is Lance?
There IS an "evil 7" embedded in Granville's moniker yikes...

I am in the RR camp too. Seriously...if ever a group wanted to show themselves up as being a petty, insecure, spineless bunch of bullies, the people behind this 'anti race radio' campaign have taken the cake. In fact, they take it to a new level. A psychologist would have a field day diagnosing the conditions they have.

I hope someone from Livestrong is reading this.
My father and uncle both died of cancer in the past few years. To represent the cancer community the way you currently are is disgraceful.

Nick777, one man's "disgaceful" is another man's "inspirational".
Although I think the ratio is not one to one.
More like one to ten thousand?
And btw, I am not convinced that ARR has anything to do with livestrong.org
I hope not. The best use of livestrong time would be to ignore the troll RR IMO.

Sorry to hear about your Dad and your Uncle.
My Mom passed recently too.
