Thymen Arensman will race the 3 X2O races in the new year following riding and winning a dutch national cross in Norg this week. The last uci cx race he did was the new years day race in Petange in Luxembourg in 2020.

Italian CX action from Turino; doesn't look the most inspiring course....

And yet the Euro Cross Country (athletics) championship was in La Mandria park just outside Turin, and half of that course looked far more suited to CX than to running.

Most of the Italian CX races I've seen seem similar; rather boring, not technical, and not very hilly - no wonder Persico isn't very good technically; just relies on her engine.

I’m new to cyclocross. It seems in the last 3 races Wout was best when the course was fast and MVDP was faster on the slow courses. Is this a trend with them?

No idea, of course with knee pain running is harder than cycling and running happens to be part of cyclocross. If she really hasn't touched her bike for almost 2 weeks that's quite a dent in her form.

Errr…. Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Vince McMahon? Their rivalry basically saved the WWE!

Personally, I think wrestling peaked in the 80's with Hulkamania, Andre the Giant, Superfly Snuka, etc. Lost interest after that. I would rate the Sugar Ray Leonard/Duran/Hearns/Hagler as another top-notch rivalry - albeit a 4 way one.

Who knows what happens today. Hopefully no actual bad luck mechanicals. I wouldn't call either of MVDP's issues on the last lap "bad luck". Thought his strategy was a good one as he gave himself two chances to win - gap Wout on that last section and downhill, and if that doesn't work he still has his shot in the sprint. Couldn't manage to execute either but still a good plan IMO.

It's usually tight and twisty. I think VdP gets this one tonight.

Alvarado and van der Heijden have got a decent amount of riders between them and Betsema at the moment for the overall.

It looked like Van Anrooij was about to close the gap at one point, but Pieterse just kept going.

Puck in another fabulous ride.....demonstrating her skills. Van Anrooij kept her honest, and a fine third for Ceylin. Looked a good battle between Vas, Persico & Backstedt. PFP not helped by more chain/ rear mech issues but wasn't ever going to trouble the sharp end.
