Excellent ride by Vandeputte. He really shines when conditions are difficult and technical. Must’ve been one of the most difficult course conditions in a long time. Well deserved victory! Fun to see Orts high up and a little bit surprising that MVTH had such a difficult day. Yet he kept going and didn’t cave in.
I think Orts likes these conditions too, as does Mason. I guess the party is over now the big boys are back in town.

Maybe tomorrow we will see if all the men are raising their game, which is making it harder to pick winners. MvdP is the litmus test. But it is hardly fair as the others are coming off the hard conditions in Hulst which has got to take something out of their legs, right?

Storm apparently blown through (just starting where I am, turbo for me today) and junior and u23 races being delayed and squeezed up.
Previous wins at Zonhoven suggest Toon Aerts might be the main challenger today.
Brand will looking for better than last year when she landed on her nose.

Isabella Holmgren really needs to improve her starts. It's been a consistent issue, and today she was in the mid-30s halfway through lap 1 and had to spend most of the rest of the race working her way up through the field. She was riding top 10 lap times the rest of the race. Hopefully Ava Holmgren isnt too banged up from her crash.

I think both Holmgrens would do well with a front row start. Ava looked really smooth until that crash. Gery was great too.

She's a bit like Mitterwallner - very little explosivity off the start......and in Elites you can't get back.
