Amazing race.

Van Aert the king of the Christmas period, winning 3 out of 4 races so far. The strongest rider in the world at the moment.
Pidcock may not have won today but he is stronger than ever in a cross bike and I wouldn't be surprised if he wins in Baal in a course that should suit him better.
Van der Poel is still great but he is having a few bonks, he will need to improve his level ahead of the World Championships.

I think his height has been pretty stable at 170 cm for the last year, or so...

Is that a meme? Pidcock's weirdly fluctuating height?
I think it was you who created it along with measuring Anna Kay in medals.
Indeed, he's even younger! But for me the conundrum with Nys is that he was having back issues, but his results in heavy races was better than in fast races.
Yes a bit strange. But he said before Christmas he'd sorted the back issues out (for now...)

Yes, his height was still at 1m58 for a long time on PCS, then they changed it to 1.70... and then they changed it back to 1.58 for a year, lol

I remember! I even recall someone - you? - making analyses of his height based on "Here he is, standing right next to some other guy who's definitely not tiny, and looking about as tall."

I think it was you who created it along with measuring Anna Kay in medals.

Pretty sure that was Samu! Or sir fly! Or one of the other crazy guys.

Les Gets 2019 after a training camp - finished minutes down. However, he looks worse now than he did before the last training camp. He looked like the old MvdP in Antwerp.....since then...the snappy acceleration doesn't seem there, and the skills aren't quite there.
I guess with MVDP one has to remember that the previous 7-8 months have been almost a total write-off in terms of a chance to improve as an athlete, with injuries and other disruptions to his training and performance.
Still disappointing to see him so completely blow up.

I think you hit the nail on the head there, his performances so far have been those of an athlete who lacks a proper base, and who lacks real race fitness. It's happened a few times now where you saw him hang his head and just give up. That's not what we like to see from MVDP.
