I think if you ask them most will say that they prefer cyclocross to road cycling. This is why pursuing an Olympics spot seems foolish to some but vital to others.It's a lot easier if you're Belgian/ Dutch to make a career out of it.........and until that changes it will remain a niche discipline in cycling.
Expected yet sad, he will be missed.Lars van der Haar has announced his retirement on Instagram - this will be his final season.
Hopefully we’ll see him on the podium a few more times before he finishes!
