A shame, I never like to see the Sauces team win races……
I don't like watching Iserbyt win races. I don't like watching Vanthourenhout helping Iserbyt win races. But I do like watching Vanthourenhout win races, and I really enjoyed the disfunction back when Sweek was riding with them. :D

Vanthourenhout reminds me of a Sleestak, and I never want to see a Sleestak win:

The everyday glamour of being a cyclocross star is… amazing. I’m both impressed and happy that these young men and women have chosen this lifestyle and careers, for our entertainment. It’s not an easy one by any means.

It's a lot easier if you're Belgian/ Dutch to make a career out of it.........and until that changes it will remain a niche discipline in cycling.

I think if you ask them most will say that they prefer cyclocross to road cycling. I think even Pogacar would gladly be able to compete in cyclocross.

Challenging conditions at Oudenaarde , I was surprised how quickly gaps opened . Remains a great circuit .

Has Iserbyt raced this season? Thanks!
Not yet, he has an injury that was bothering him last year, and I think he had surgery on it.

Really gutted for Fem, as I think her mental state is still really bad. I hope she is able to get to a place in life where she's okay, regardless of whether that includes cycling.

I hope Van Empel was just having a bad day and we'll see her in the fields tomorrow, cuz someone needs to give Brand a run. Given the list of DNFs in the men's race, she wasn't the only one not feeling it.
Worth noting that French women' placings put them ahead of Dutch women in the top-10, and all young-ish.

Supposedly she's still recovering from illness, but I have the feeling the team is protecting her. I don't want to dabble in amateur psychology but obviously there's some kind of mental block going on.

Hopefully a good sign for the near future.......a mix of nations in the Top 10 is what we want to see. I would like to see a few Swiss in there as well (but CX in Switzerland seems to be for XC rejects), and with the current young North Americans it could be a lot more interesting going forward.

The Holmgrens and Rafaelle Carrier should be regular fixtures in the top 15s, but I don't know how much cross they will be racing.
