Bit harsh on him though isn't it after your conversations with him? You guys seemed to get on alright?
Collingwood suck...but are reigning premiers
auscyclefan94 said:NO we actually always have argued. I thought he was a **** since the Lowe/White/Del Moral issue though I never completely trusted him anyway.

Oldman said:Make fun of him if you will but I saw him outclimb the entire Pro peloton at Mammoth's prologue TT. He had turned 17 years old and probably thought things would get better in this sport.
BroDeal said:That must have been before he turned into a sham artist using an anti-dope bamboozle to connive his way into a position of power so he could sanctimoniously pass off his self serving plans for cycling as a way to revolutionize the sport.
BroDeal said:The outrage over what time to schedule the discussion about radios was a charade. Vaughters and co. intended to walk out no matter what. They were looking for a excuse, and if they could not find one then they would create one. But just like choosing radios to confront the UCI, they have again chosen a stupid issue to rally behind. Demanding a schedule change the day before and going apesh!t when it is not accepted makes the teams look idiotic.
VeloFidelis said:Attempting to appear well informed regarding things you can't possibly know anything about, makes you look the same.
BroDeal said:Perhaps you can explain to us why they demanded a schedule change the day before the meeting, knowing full well that meetings like this are filled with people who can quote Robert's rules of order by memory. It could not possibly be to create a pretext to walk out, now could it? Enlighten us, o' wise one.

VeloFidelis said:It could be, but you have no way of knowing that it was. You got one minor fact correct. The rest of it... you just made up.
BroDeal said:No, I deduced it based on the previous behavior of Vaughters and crew. They have obviously been using the radio issue as a pawn in a power dispute with the UCI, going so far as to make risible safety claims and flat out lying about the use of radios to control races. It is not a great leap in logic to think that they would use a dispute over a schedule change in a similar manner, as a pretext to fight with the UCI. They clearly manufactured the schedule dispute since no reasonable person would demand a last minute change and threaten to walk out if they did not get one. Ergo they must have wanted to wanted to walk out. They were looking for any reason to break off relations with the UCI and deepen the divide. This sort of thing is done in politics all the time.

Oh, it's a great story of conspiracy and subterfuge from and obviously fertile mind, but maybe you should put the bong down for a while and stick with facts that can actually be documented.
VeloFidelis said:Do you feel safer with a cell phone in your pocket? Do you take it with you when you ride? I doubt that you expect a phone call about that upcoming pothole, but you do take it with you, so it is about safety. If you don't think so, then leave it at home, or better yet turn it off for a month. Statistically you are at no greater risk, but you sure do feel more vulnerable. Is that about "safety"?
