so that's why he didn't do anything this year, he was transfusing blood once a week, so that he had almost a years supply at the time of the tour :p

+1! You are some sick, sick mofo's, and this is not the first time that I've had to pick myself up off the floor after laughing myself into the fetal position while reading this forum.

Valid points !
It's damning speculation without evidence that is the issue for me.. I could not care less about Mr Armstrong..Much of the early info was stuff I alway's suspected.. Dopers beating dopers, ( with the odd clean ride thrown in ) my head has not been in the sand.
I realize speculation brings discussion and everyone has their own version of what is acceptable but from my stance it appears many posters simply stir the rumor pot, by the time we get to page 5 in these threads information is twisted..
And I'm labeled a "Troll" on my 1st post in this thread...

I agree with that. I do see a lot of proclamations regarding this or that, and it does get tiresome. Presenting the "this is coming out now" and "Lance is being called home" stuff, and quite frankly, it is getting taxing even to me.

That is different in character to speculating about what something means or what a series of events might foretell. Members like goober seem only to focus on those things as though they are rabid proclamations unfit for expression. His suggestion that he presents ANYTHING as a counter speculation is just not true. I think he may be a paid shill.

One of the issues here is that in some posts by some posters, speculation is either represented as fact (when that may not be the case) or the posters do not make the effort to note in their posts that it is indeed speculation and not based on fact. Nothing wrong with speculation. Hell, I speculate all day.

re your comment - "those who favor Mr Armstrong are the ones who continually rail against "speculation" - I call BS. There are many posters here (obviously including myself) who ask for a link to sources or think that extensive speculation based on rumor and/or a lack of facts is open to challenge.

Such a challenge is too often interpreted as "favoring" LA. The response to that challenge often contains a subtle context - "if someone is not bashing LA and does not post that they dislike LA as much or even more than I do, then they must be an apologist for LA."

That context, which is pervasive here (and I would appreciate some non flaming comments with semi-intelligent rebuttal on that point of pervasiveness) stifles discussion.

To quote your post "What I would suggest is for you to listen to yourself tomorrow" and ask yourself if any of your responses to a post could ever possibly be based on "someone is not bashing LA and does not post that they dislike LA as much or even more than I do, then they must be an apologist for LA."

Usual disclaimer - I am not a fan of LA. I feel that his presence/influence has been a detriment to cycling. I do tend to like facts.

Its funny, I keep hearing the "I am not a Lance fan" mantra from people who only seem to show up on Lance threads and challenge people who are posting unfavorable comments.

We all like facts. And I agree that many here do present speculation as fact. That bothers me also. Past that, I don't like LA, and sorry, but as I say, if it quacks like a duck...

Do you know if you can get an English-language Eurosport feed for each stage? I've always upgraded my TV package to watch the Tour on Versus in the past, but I just can't get myself listen to it anymore.

The funniest part of Versus coverage is when they do a synopsis of, for example, a Classic that LA isn't even riding. The most popular topic of discussion? Still LA.

Yea, steephill.tv and cyclingfans.com both have english feeds.

With regards to speculation, the name of the thread was "Radioshack out o(f) Tour rumours".

It was apparent within an hour that it was indeed only rumour - most speculation appeared to be centered on whether the rumour was true or not.

This is the worst time of year - there is little action in the 2 weeks leading to the Tour except for the NC's.
Lots of information comes out from various 'news outlets' - mostly speculation therefore any argument, debate or analysis is inevitably speculative.

Have to laugh because one of the tactics often used against me was to demand a source for every piece of speculation I would make, and claim it was trolling for me to speculate about anything. To be fair our Floyd fan boy TFF is probably not bright enough to remember that. Just like he's not bright enough to know Michael Ashenden was spinning again in that article he posted, pretending he only found out about micro dosing from Landis - when he knew five years ago about the tactic and forgetting that he said it took place in the off season and not the tour. I suppose it's all good propaganda though.

Welcome back, a$$hole.

Let me fix that for you - "Its funny, I keep hearing the "I am not a Lance fan" mantra from people who only seem to show up on Lance threads and challenge people who are posting.... wishes?"

Playing the fanboy card is good.

At least we seem to agree on the speculation/fact presentation issue.

Anyone know what Ditrich (Didi) Thurau said today? Whatever it is, it's got Kloden p1ssed off:

Found it. An article in Focus suggesting that at least 70 percent of the Tour field is probably doping.

Poor Phantom :(

If RS actually did get the boot, it would probably be the end for a number of careers, unfortunate way to go.

Whatever you call them, you seem only to address those from people who dislike Lance, yet you claim no attachment. I don't go around saying "I am a fan of Lance, but I think he is a douche because _____________" You will also have to forgive me if I point out that the number of people posting the "I am not a Lance fan, but you guys who are 'haters' are ridiculous because _____________" are increasing by the day. I mean, just go count the "I have been lurking for awhile and decided to post because ________________. I mean, I don't care about Lance but ________________." posts in the last 2 or 3 weeks.

So again, forgive me if I find it difficult to believe that you have no dog in the race. You keep coming to threads about Lance and posting what you do for a reason.

Okay, off to put the latest incarnation of the mentally ill troll on the Ignore list. (not you)

Not fast enough to prevent me from losing my cool and going postal...:(

Been there and done that with BPC. Completely understandable. I have never wanted to physically harm anyone because of something they posted on the internet, but I honestly do with him. I know that is base and stupid because they are after all just words, but I would love to meet him in person one day.

Have to agree that this time of year a lot of those "I am a lurker" threads pop up - I am confused as to why you imply I am in that bunch. My post count is over five.

If it would make you happier I can throw in a village idiot post - "Oooh, Lance wants to fark his mommy!!" - but I think the forum as a collective body is a bit tired of that noise.

Not unheard of to not have a dog in a race. Many people go the races and have a favorite, others just enjoy the sport.

I do post in other threads. I assume you do also. We are both posting in another nonsense thread regarding the Radio Shack team (that was turned into an LA thread) that is based on unverified rumor on Twitter. Jeez.

And yes, you are correct that I post what I do for a reason.

I heard a rumour he was transfusioning everyday so he could supply the whole peleton except Contador.

Another rumour from at least three sources is that the TDF starts on Saturday, but yet to confirm as two of the sources may be the same.
