Have to agree that this time of year a lot of those "I am a lurker" threads pop up - I am confused as to why you imply I am in that bunch. My post count is over five.

If it would make you happier I can throw in a village idiot post - "Oooh, Lance wants to fark his mommy!!" - but I think the forum as a collective body is a bit tired of that noise.

Not unheard of to not have a dog in a race. Many people go the races and have a favorite, others just enjoy the sport.

I do post in other threads. I assume you do also. We are both posting in another nonsense thread regarding the Radio Shack team (that was turned into an LA thread) that is based on unverified rumor on Twitter. Jeez.

And yes, you are correct that I post what I do for a reason.

No, what would make me happy is instead of demeaning speculative posts by people, you proffer an actual view of the issue being discussed. I realize that I am guilty of doing the same thing, and you are correct that we both do post on many threads. You will find that I post on a wide range of topics, and my actual favorite threads are race threads. It is great fun to discuss the race as it is happening.

I can see you are reasonable. I respect many of your criticisms, and see the validity. However, I think we both could do without grouping people as much as I know I do.

Yep. It is official. The shack has been thrown out of the tour. More details later.

If I had a $1 for every time I have heard that today I would be able to buy myself a Garmin 500.

Been there and done that with BPC. Completely understandable. I have never wanted to physically harm anyone because of something they posted on the internet, but I honestly do with him. I know that is base and stupid because they are after all just words, but I would love to meet him in person one day.

Whoa there big guy. Don't go gittin' all Carbonhammer/Jackcrank on us now.

This is how it goes. I make an important point. Nobody can counter it.

In return I get abuse.

I get regular troll Race Radio claiming he's hacked into me.

I get TFF again threatening me with violence.

Do any of these guys get a banning?

No. Of course not. But we already knew that. This is CN.

You have to wonder, what is so hard about actually debating people with facts and reason?
What are they so scared of? Why are you such a bunch of cryababies?

What did I miss? Welcome to CN forums :).

I don't think he has much to worry about. The other loony, Race Radio, now claims he's hacked into me and has all my personal info. These guys won't get a banning.

I often genuinely ask myself - why do they get so angry?

TFF is making the precise same points in this about speculation that I have made, so if anything he should be a fan of mine. I just don't get it.

The funny thing is that sometimes I do chuckle at the subtle brilliance of some of your posts. Some of your bait is so slight that many don't pick up on it. Obviously, some of it is overt, but either way that does not outweigh the fact that you are not a real cycling fan, and are only here to be a troll and disrupt. Hey, we all have a purpose in life....

No way this guy has a wife, so I cannot possibly threaten his family as Jack threatened mine. Nor would I. In fact, I wouldn't do much more than walk across the street to fulfill my fantasy, but I am pretty sure Old Miss Mary isn't on her computer pounding out the bait right now. I am pretty sure she has been asleep for 5 hours.

To be honest not much - except that "BPC/Arbiter" has gone through (at least) 4 usernames alone in the past few hours.

Oh and Radioshack are out of the Tour.

This.

The current ASO management is more focused on money than clean racing. It would take something huge for them to force RS out at the last minute. Everything that has come out so far can easily be brushed off as the past.
I would have to agree.

Armstrong is planning on a repeat of 1999 where everyone ratchets back their doping and he cranks his up to eleven. The other riders have to worry about their passport values. Armstrong will be retired again before the passport committee next meets to examine riders' values. He does not have to worry about the trend of his blood values.

I think he is planning on using a lot more than micro transfusions with a final rest day unit of blood like it looks like he used last year.
Hmmm, so you think he will win overall gc?

What will liggett do? I reckon bjarko has come back +.

You kinda need RS to be in there as then it will be saxo V astana and it would be better to have a 3 way big team war.

Also, reading all the posters humour and analysis on Lance is very amusing. What is stricklands twitter account called?

@truebs i think it is a perfect handle

He seems to be ratcheting up his game in anticipation of the Tour, fortunately the mods seem to be doing the same.:D

With regards to speculation, the name of the thread was "Radioshack out o(f) Tour rumours".

It was apparent within an hour that it was indeed only rumour - most speculation appeared to be centered on whether the rumour was true or not.

This is the worst time of year - there is little action in the 2 weeks leading to the Tour except for the NC's.
Lots of information comes out from various 'news outlets' - mostly speculation therefore any argument, debate or analysis is inevitably speculative.

Apologies for the spelling error in the title, I'm away from home on a training week so only have my iPhone, which is making this difficult.

looking at this in a bit more detail the rumours started at about 11 PM CET. The ASO won't even be at work then and most if Europe will be asleep.

It's prime time for the US but that isn't where any of this is based so this could all end up being a load of rubbish

Now for something completely different. LA is getting tested more than some of the other riders, or he is more vocal about it on twitter. All the other riders only mention this morning, but LA was tested both last night and this morning. Is he one of the WADA targets and are they already testing him for this?

This is why I think Armstrong might die on top of the Tourmalet this year. By the third week of the Tour he will be minutes behind Contador, absolutely furious about it, and taking every PED he can lay his hands on because he is incapable of admitting defeat.

I do hope this is a joke... :)

The thing about all this testing is that at the very least, this can't happen. For what it's worth, I think Lance will finish top 5, probably do it doping, but get away with it as he is a master of playing the game, as is Bruyneel.

I truly hope Wiggins beats him though, and prove that it is possible clean.

If you want to think Wiggins is clean, you want the opposite to occur.

No, I believe Wiggins is clean, and I also believe that some people have more natural class than others, hence Boardman's (limited) success, and LeMonds also. When class and doping are close, surely you want the clean athlete to win? The implication is that no-one has ever beaten a doper unless they doped themselves, a supposition I don't personally believe. Make's it harder of course, but I think you are wrong, imho.
