Lol, I'm not saying he hasn't used PED's, but he's been relatively clean in terms of BB's and EPO in my book.(Compared to Alberto, Valverde, LL Sanchez & Samu) Can't rule out other stuff, but since 2010 he's shown good consistency, unlike Gilbert for example who completely wore out his body. He doesn't use very aggresive agents. And right now he uses more or less the same as the riders he competes with.

meh, J-Rod stepped up big time in '12. Much better at TT'ing, recovery in GT's became very good. Started to outclimb other dopers from longer distance.

J-Rod is s doper. Hardcore.

How can he be any less suspicious than Valverde?

And his improvement since he joined Katusha in his 30's....

How has Purito improved over the last years? Was he better in the '03 Vuelta, '08 Giro, '10 TdF or in the '12 Vuelta? He's shown talent from a young age, winning smaller races here and there with great panache, but never featuring as a GT contender unlike Piti. GT's required a lot more PED's than nowadays to perform in them, so that's why I think he was cleaner than the others back then.

You've got a point regarding Katusha though. But I like many other riders on that team as well.:p

Does purito already have a thread here?

He definitely needs one after last year's improvement in Gt's.

Are you seriously saying he didn't improve the last couple of years?

That's what I'm asking you. How have his performances(not his results) over the years developed? In the '08 Giro he was very strong in some stages, but Ricco and Killer(+others) totally destroyed him almost every occasion.

Penta, i dont know if you understand doping if you can write a statement like

"Purito is one of the cleanest Spanish stars"

What does that mean. What makes 1 doper cleaner than another and how can anyone work it out?

He chooses to dope but he prefers to dope less so he can sleep better at night? If he dopes why would he limit it more than others?

How could you possibly make assumptions on what quantities people dope in?

Purito has less baggage than Valverde and Contador, and Lulu becuase he's not been directly implicated in doping yet, but one cannot say he;s the cleanest.

As for Santa's performances this year, it does raise the question whether BMC have toned down their doping drastically. (Could explain Gilbert, Thor and Cadel's poor season last year)

I am pretty sure his TT performances have developed.

What was that, 40 watts allegedly.

All because he finally had his TT looked into. Funnily at the same time he became more consistent and better on longer climbs.

Your idea that Murito was a yardstick for cleanliness is ridiculous and frankly not worth discussing as it's based on absolutely nothing.

There are many assumptions(and guesses) in my posts here, you're right that I'm unclear in my reasoning.

What I'd like to know is whether he was on the same program as his leaders at the time, 'cause his GT pedigree wasn't great until the blood passport was introduced. Perhaps he wasn't a good enough 'responder' to compete in GT's?

For now he's also one of the only Spaniards who's expressed his disapproval of Lance.
