Easy big fella, since my quote is among those you referenced, I assume I am one viewing Millar as a 'White Knight?' Let's not get carried away. I did and continue to give him kudos for asking doping questions to the UCI president, who else is doing it? And of those who have (uh, are there any?), how many are riders?.

No problems. I did, and continue to view him as Fran Millar's brother. Fran, who is regularly employed as Team Sky's PR officer.

I grabbed quotes lauding Millar at random - except for 3 where I personally felt villified for my interpretation of the press release er conference.

Millar takes every and any opportunity to spruik teams clean, Sky and Garmin. There's an interesting story or twist in this from 2008 that I want to tease out at some point, but am in the middle of some paid work ;)

To the others I quoted - it was nothing personal. Except the law student. He owes me an apology or a hug or something :p

Waiting for his buddy Phinney to say something too...what would it be?
Phinney has been pretty reasonable so far, despite not making a definite statement about the case. He just read Hamilton's book. Hasn't come across as an Armstrong fan for a long time now.

I hope so, 'cause I really like him. Though his dad might be helping him out.

CADEL Evans is reeling at doping admissions that have shocked the cycling world, friends say.

The champion is digesting a 1000-page document from the US Anti-Doping Authority accusing Lance Armstrong of organising the most sophisticated doping program ever seen.

Australian cycling coach Matt White, named in the report, has since admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs while riding with Armstrong in the US Postal team a decade ago.

A friend said Evans, who was in Switzerland, would speak on the issues soon. Sources said he was thrown after hearing White's admissions.

:(

Is there a single thing that can be said that has not already been said?

Things are different now. Things are cleaner now. I am dismayed / shocked / amazed. Let's move on. Let's move forward. Things are moving forward. We need to focus on the future.

I find it funny, yesterday news.com.au ran as story where they had spoke to his mum....today it is a friend.

But you are right, what is he going to say? BMC PR must be working hard on this statement - look who is involved in his team....;)

Don't forget that it was 10 years ago. In cyclist math 2012-2010=10.

I think the anwser may lie in what occurred in the porn industry a few years ago.

There was an outbreak of syphilis spread by the actors having too much unprotected sex and intravenous drug use.

The only way to get it under control was to shut the entire industry down for a number or weeks to break the cycle. Drug dealers went elsewhere, the actors cleaned up and got healthy so they all could return to work.

Maybe cycling should shutdown for 6 months or so?

Christophe Bassons, October 2012:

He says teams plural, but I can only think of 1 dominating team in the Tour de France - certainly for this year.

Perhaps my current fixation er research focus is too one-eyed. Can anyone help me out with the list of teams that have dominated the Tour de France in recent years?

I felt Cadel's effort was part-team but mostly solo. Not what I considered a domination by a team at all.

hmmmm did they run the Tour in 2010?

I think its the first time that i have read that a cyclist is reading the 1000 page report , before making a statement - thats a good sign. My guess is Cadel took Matts word as true.
