He literally did, Flemish commentators just weren't awake and didn't see it. De Lie took the first boni sprint, then was struggling in Wellens his wheel. He even tried to take the last one too, but just couldn't. Wellens was stronger at that point.
You don't really believe that he couldn't get over Wellens' wheel, do you? If it were a finish line, he sure as hell would have been able to, lol.

Not that it mattered much, i just thought it was funny.

I agree that if it was a finish line he would've been able to go over it, but he was definitely on his limit. It's obviously always different if it's for yourself or for someone else. But then again, I responded cause he did steal a second from Wellens at the first intermediate.
