How is this supposed to be possible, when the (important part of the) stage takes place on a 25km circuit?
I'll re-phrase that then, "What wind there is, is of course a headwind on the way to the final finishing circuit, when it will alternate between a headwind, a crosswind and a tailwind."
(Of course on certain GT stages, no matter where the riders ride, it's always a headwind. :) )

That's a real shame ... rushes out to put 2 centimes on De Lie.

Edit add - "Very warm and humid with clouds and sun; caution advised if doing strenuous activities outside." 31 C tops today according to the weather people. How many DNF today? A lot I reckon. Of course, what wind there is, is a headwind.
Headwind on a circuit ? A kind of permanent rotating wind then.

Well that's a strong group. Weird that Lotto let this one go. Seems like it is even more mission impossible for Segaert to survive now then it already was. Perfect for some riders to make the jump at some point.

Curious what Hagenes can do here in this group. I imagine Lotto keeps them close with Segaert in the lead and De Lie with a shot for the stage.

Without Mathieu I’m going for Wellens to win GC.

Apparently big sufferfest already with lots of riders dropped from the peloton. Parcours is so much better than previous years and the weather won't help the riders either

G, Foss and Lampaert (DNF also now) already dropped.

Trentin attacks in the front group, Bettiol and De Lie attack in the peloton. 50km out still. Bettiol doesn't look in the form he had in Dwars in March, De Lie got a bit of a gap on him.

I wonder if Trentin and Hagenes in particular have a chance here. There aren't a lof domestiques who will work in the peloton. UAE will probably have to do it. Lotto doesn't have any.

Segaert surprisingly strong here but he has no teammates. Of course De Lie in front, but he isn't going to drop back (and he shouldn't).

Also absolutely insane Hagenes performance; In the break all day and then still there.

I think these 6 are gone. Segaert should even stop riding. he will just burry himself. Only thing that can save him if some guys come back from behind, but it's probably over. And dropping back De Lie wouldn't change anything.
