I saw a picture from a Sky table (Porte retweet)

Porte was staying alone at a round table, Froome at main table , with an empty space near him (also no dish at that spot)

This body language says something

Also Porte didn't tweeted anything at @froome in the past 6 months, and it does it very regulary with other cyclists

Porte did not even congratulate Froome for his victory.

Maybe he does all that stuff in private but some signs are here...

Seems like Richie and Chris are getting along fine

Did you go into the race with a plan to ride for Chris Froome?

Going into it Froomey and I were both joint-leaders. Obviously he’s been unwell. It’s hard enough to win these races at your top level of health and fitness but he was quite ill at Tirreno[-Adriatico].

It’s probably a blessing in disguise that he’s not anywhere near his top just yet. He’s recovering but I think come July he’ll be flying. He’s absolutely motivated. We obviously spend a fair bit of time together and to hear him talk about the Tour like he is — it’s going to be exciting for me after the Giro to get ready to go there and help him.

So there’s no concern that this is a longer-term illness, like you had last year?

That’s all it is; a short-term illness.

Roche's even giving Richie the stink eye. Yep they're spitting in each other's food when heads are turned. :p

I think the leading candidates to then sign him could be TCS, BMC and OGE.
TCS will have Contador retiring the next year, BMC have TJVG and OGE would love to have Australia's best GC hope. All three would have compelling cases for Richie; Bjarne, money and national ties.

Tejay is overrated. BMC should sign Aru. Porte to TCS? interesting thought. I wonder if he wants to be back under Bjarne (well, if he is fired then under whoever). Beside working under drunken Rusian owner doesn't seem a good environment to nurture his interest. One nose dive, he will be slaughter by Oleg's nasty twitter. OGE doesn't have enough support like sky. *think Uran at Ettix*

Yeah, I was sort of stating that TJVG isn't the type of rider who scores bucketloads of points or gets the big wins, so they can afford to get another co-leader.

Your'e right OGE won't have much support, but Clarke, Santamorita, Chaves and Weening can do a decent enough job. Also i'm sure Porte would demand a few mountain domestiques be hired. Adam Yates could still be at OGE as well and by 2017 Haig and Power should be able to ride GT's to help Porte.

I doubt OGE could afford Richie and domestiques for a serious TDF attempt. There was an article about MTN, possibly on CN, which said OGE got rid of Goss because his wages were too high as a former MSR winner.

They probably don't mind high wages if they actually get some good results (and this is being posted by a Tasmanian).

Little Richie is starting Giro del Trentino.I'm kinda surprised by this choice, imo he's got enough racing days already.

He can't stop. Winning.
One last chance to win something before returning to loose to the real winners :)

GT wise, I think he doesn't have it. There are quite a few GT riders outside of the big four who are more likely to win one than Lil Richie, Plan B from outer space. But then again, Sky were able to pull a GT winner out of the hat, we might be in for some surprises. Swimming is doing miracles.

Both Lance and Richie had backgrounds as a triathletes. Cough Cough. I never expected Cobo to win the Vuelta or Hesjedal to win a Giro and when Evans won the Tour in 2011 you could have got odds of $36.00. Evans said a in a recent interview that Porte could pay for his early start to the year especially in the third week of the Giro but he also said to do well in the Giro you have to be pretty good right now. Porte might have been better off missing the TDU and Australian road titles but maybe he thought he had ground to make up after missing out last year with illness and poor form. If Porte can't make the top 5 in the Giro or top 3 at very best I think I reckon he has to rethink grand tours. He has no excuse for being poorly prepared this year, no illness and hopefully he has not overdone it early in the season. That said at at the age of 30 Porte is only coming into his best years really. I am surprised he is riding Trentino but Evans said it is a good race because the stages are fairly short as is the overall race and you can always soft pedal and do an Andy instead of worrying about a result. It's hard to see Contador losing the Giro, I can't see Aru or Uran beating him although the long TT should be good for Uran who is a much better TT rider now but his climbing is not quite up there with the best.

Well if you ignore that stage in TDF 2013 when he was having or not a bad day he was very strong even in the 3rd week so the potential is there. In that form he might just be a GT winner and this year he was really good,he might have a chance at Giro.

He held the gap at 2 minutes for such a long time, then he sat up.

My one problem is Porte keeping up the form into 3rd week of the Giro ...Hope they protect Konig as he may finish higher !
3 weeks is so much more than one week stage races and then there is the fact Porte has been flying since January

I hope I am wrong as I would love to see a real battle with Contador especially now Aru is sick

But .....

I can't see Porte leaving SKY btw ....but doesn't mean he won't get his chances

But first he must win one Grand Tour and then people can speculate

This photo and his recent results are a great
endorsement for the Nutribullet our Richie
has been using of late. (Of course the coaching,
the training and the CNP nutritional products
have something to do with his success as
well :). )

Well this photo would seem to support the claim that Richie has lost 5Kg since 2014. 5Kg is a LOT and he did look a little "soft" in earlier pictures I've seen.

Wikipedia has Porte's weight at 62Kg. If he was 67Kg last year that equates to a 7% increase in W/Kg. I still worry that he might fade (get sick) or have a bad day over a 3 week Grand Tour. But then he was still riding very strong in the 3rd week at the 2013 Tour including on the 2nd ascent up the Alpe.

My heart says Richie can push Contador at the Giro but my head still says AC is too strong. More likely Richie is outside chance of podium if he doesn't lose 20 minutes on one stage.
