Pretty hard to give context if you weren't there or haven't seen the course, which was indeed very hilly. Riders hitting 80kmh with the 1st km or so. Hitting 90kmh down one of the hills......I was tracking with GPS. Nah, wouldn't call that hilly. Plus there was a head wind on the way home. If you went out too quickly on that course and overcooked it, you would lose big time on the way home.

What did they hit in Moudon?

A minute slower than Armstrong who was beaten by Roberto Laiseka. Does Armstrong at his best get beaten by Laiseka? No he doesn't.
Lol.
So it's perfectly ok for froome and Wiggins to massively improve their performances and become.world great climbers.

But it's totally not ok for laseika to do it.

You just place an arbitrary limit on how good laseika is allowed to have been with not even any data to back up why that is the case. And based of that absolutely baseless and unbacked assumption you play down a performance made over a decade later.

All while on the other hand ignoring this very argument for your favourite riders and allowing them to go through massive fluctuations and improvements in performance, ans placing no limits on how good they are allowed to be.

It's laughable, considering how much you try to mock the clinic, how massively full of holes and assumptions your arguments always are.

The clinic, and those who doubt sky are consistent in how they judge things. You change the rules all the time depending on whether you like a rider and what thread you want to disrupt.

OK, so not only was it somewhat hilly, Porte takes back 2 seconds \km into a headwind. Wow.

Against a specialist TT'er coming in to prime form for a shot at the hour no less...

Richie Porte has a massive heart and is on bike 6 hours a day busting his a$$.....

No power meter either. He must have turned it off and gone on a 96 hour bike ride.

Looks like Wigans, Sir Dave and The Dawg finally let him dip into the 2012 vintage Super Secret Special Sauce.

I noticed the sand shoes as well - strap yourselves in, this year could get crazy :D

Yeh, I noticed how thin he looked too - pretty obvious Richie has lost his puppy fat. For sure maybe Richie has been given the keys to the top shelf of Wiggo and Froome's medicine cabinet? At least this season it will be fun watching an Alien Aussie taking on Aliens from Britain, Spain and elsewhere. I missed him after Ventoux 2013.

Riche has worked hard on his traning over the winter. Sometimes he put in an extra 6 hours on top of what Kerrison told him. Adding to that he has stopped eating unhealthy food which means he lost a lot of weight. (and gained power).

Other marginal gains are that he has worked on his cadence and lowered his position which gives him 30 extra watts. He has also started taking the sport more seriously and is now really motivated to win the giro d'italia.

I think based on the posts so far we have established he has lost a bit of weight.

And tore the legs off the rest of the TT field for his national championship win.

Bobridge was impressive today and little Richie whipped him in the Nats TT, so hopefully we'll see some full *** fireworks later this week

To quote Polish - Yikes!

2 Aussie enduros in a break and and an enduro-style sprint from someone with track experience. Looked pretty normal to me ;-)

Totally normal ;)

He was pretty impressive on Checkers too. On the other hand, it's looking like Bobridge has his head and arthritis sorted. I hope so, would hate to see so much talent keep going to waste.

Yeah it's a bit of a head fck to consider the guy who has the world record for the 4km pursuit is nowhere near winning a TdF and riding for a pro conti team this year.

he is what, 5'11" and 145 lbs.

If he wanted to do GC he could get down to 135lbs no worries, and on Froome and Wiggins program, he could maintain his power from his 4'10" IP wr. No one could possibly compete with that Ferrari-esque p/w. That would be over 7 w/kg
