Damnit Van der Breggen, why did you go so damn early

She got played by Armistead. Amazing sprint.

Wild guess, I'm thinking that's an uphill sprint too, pretty easy to miscalculate.

I need to find another channel than Eurosport for tomorrow.

Kirby nearly ruined the excitement of the sprint for me.

Gotta hand it to her. Saw Bronzini was still there and hammered the last climb to pull a smaller group free, led virtually the whole way from there and still took it. Chapeau.

Look for the official feed from the UCI. The Brits do a good job. You'll need to proxy it with a vpn, but worth it.

I'll do that for sure.

Yeah, she led out from a mile back. Looks as though she got a little too excited. Fun race to watch. I really enjoyed the last couple laps.

Nice race, but U.S. camera work leaves so much to be desired . . . we go from having too many moto-cams being in the way during European races to not even having enough motos to cover three groups on the road.

Plus the chopper shots are from so far above: I wonder if the FAA doesn't allow commercial helicopters to fly as close to the ground in the U.S.? Or is that the case for circuits in European cities (as opposed to countryside) as well?

Really didn't expect so big group together at the finish when I saw the final approach to Libby Hill.
Congrats to Armistead. The experience paid off.

Just caught the race. That was great.

As for what this race showed about the course for the men's race: Like many have been saying, the climbs are too short for an attacker to get far enough away. The last climb is a stinger, but not steep enough for anyone to really distance a well coordinated 2-3 man lead out (Thinking Norway and Germany).

Hoping for a similar race, where the tier 2 and three riders make a viable threat, but I think Germany has so many matches to burn. They'll be able to shut down the 3-lap-to-go attackers and have enough left over for the last 5k.
