Eddy did it for prize money and to earn his appearance fees.
After the first Tour, Eddy had his life sorted.
When he had over 200 wins and was going for more, he didn't have to look at his bank account.
In his interviews, he says, for him, sport is about winning and winning.

Obviously, in professional sports, the objective is to win. There's no need to justify who does it.

I don't think Roglic will reach 100 wins in his career and you are asking who will win 100 first...
You don't think he has 8 wins left in the next 2 years? He probably wins 2-3 stages in the Giro and is obviously the GC favourite. From there he has the Tour and probably Lombardia and Worlds possibly (Pogi obviously favourite for noth but still).

He probably doesn't get there this year but not getting it at all is ridiculous.

Only way Roglic doesn’t get 100 is if he calls it quits after this year or has a severe fall off. I think best case scenario he gets 4 wins from Giro, maybe 1 at Tour and he ends the year at 96 setting up next year in one of the sprint week races or TdS.

Yes, I'm maintaining my bet before this season started. Unfortunately Vingegaard was injured and this helped Roglic in getting 3 wins (currently 91) in Catalunya but I think he is not winning more than 95 this season.
Next year, he will be 36 and he doesn't race minor races so I don't expect him to win a lot. Of course, it will all depend on how good he will be after 2026 but I'm gambling about his retirement when he is no longer dominant.
