Eddy did it for prize money and to earn his appearance fees.Pogacar does it for the win, not the points. In Merckx's time, points meant little to him, but he wouldn't let anyone win, not even in his home race.

Nationals count. Get out of my thread with such nonsense!I'm gonna deflect from getting the number wrong by saying national titles should be discounted and so 8 is suddenly right agian.
Fausto Masnada will always be able to say that he was just a sprint away from preventing Pogacar from starting to dominate Lombardy.Fausto Masnada. Only 6![]()
Masnada’s won more than Keldermerck, Vansummeren, M. Haymen, or Zaugg and same wins as Bäckstedt. None of them having to race against an opponent like Pogacar and Masnada came closer than anyone in beating Pogacar in a monument he won. Even a sprinter like Bos can’t get more wins than Masnada.Fausto Masnada. Only 6![]()

Zaugg got lucky Martin and Purito thought it was a fan on the course. However Zaugg won the dream race of Masnada
That's Fulsang. Fulsang won the last Lombardy in which Pogacar didn´t participate. However Zaugg won the dream race of Masnada
You don't think he has 8 wins left in the next 2 years? He probably wins 2-3 stages in the Giro and is obviously the GC favourite. From there he has the Tour and probably Lombardia and Worlds possibly (Pogi obviously favourite for noth but still).I don't think Roglic will reach 100 wins in his career and you are asking who will win 100 first...
A sprint week race doesn't sound like it holds many opportunities for him, to be honest.Only way Roglic doesn’t get 100 is if he calls it quits after this year or has a severe fall off. I think best case scenario he gets 4 wins from Giro, maybe 1 at Tour and he ends the year at 96 setting up next year in one of the sprint week races or TdS.

Yes, I'm maintaining my bet before this season started. Unfortunately Vingegaard was injured and this helped Roglic in getting 3 wins (currently 91) in Catalunya but I think he is not winning more than 95 this season. You don't think he has 8 wins left in the next 2 years? He probably doesn't get there this year but not getting it at all is ridiculous.
