Eddy did it for prize money and to earn his appearance fees.
After the first Tour, Eddy had his life sorted.
When he had over 200 wins and was going for more, he didn't have to look at his bank account.
In his interviews, he says, for him, sport is about winning and winning.

Obviously, in professional sports, the objective is to win. There's no need to justify who does it.

Fausto Masnada. Only 6 :(
Fausto Masnada will always be able to say that he was just a sprint away from preventing Pogacar from starting to dominate Lombardy.

Since Wout lost the Flanders sprint aginats VDP, VDP started winning, and he to lose.
Masnada had the butterfly effect in his hands

Masnada’s won more than Keldermerck, Vansummeren, M. Haymen, or Zaugg and same wins as Bäckstedt. None of them having to race against an opponent like Pogacar and Masnada came closer than anyone in beating Pogacar in a monument he won. Even a sprinter like Bos can’t get more wins than Masnada.
However Zaugg won the dream race of Masnada

That's Fulsang. Fulsang won the last Lombardy in which Pogacar didn´t participate.
Masnada chose the wrong year; it was 2020.

The same thing happened to him as to Roglic: he didn't go to the 2019 TDF because of the birth of his son, and it was probably the Tour he would´ve won.

I don't think Roglic will reach 100 wins in his career and you are asking who will win 100 first...
You don't think he has 8 wins left in the next 2 years? He probably wins 2-3 stages in the Giro and is obviously the GC favourite. From there he has the Tour and probably Lombardia and Worlds possibly (Pogi obviously favourite for noth but still).

He probably doesn't get there this year but not getting it at all is ridiculous.

Only way Roglic doesn’t get 100 is if he calls it quits after this year or has a severe fall off. I think best case scenario he gets 4 wins from Giro, maybe 1 at Tour and he ends the year at 96 setting up next year in one of the sprint week races or TdS.

A sprint week race doesn't sound like it holds many opportunities for him, to be honest.

Yes, I'm maintaining my bet before this season started. Unfortunately Vingegaard was injured and this helped Roglic in getting 3 wins (currently 91) in Catalunya but I think he is not winning more than 95 this season.
Next year, he will be 36 and he doesn't race minor races so I don't expect him to win a lot. Of course, it will all depend on how good he will be after 2026 but I'm gambling about his retirement when he is no longer dominant.

Roglic will not win 100 races. I already said this and some people laughed. Next year is probably his last year in peak shape. It is very usual to see riders fading after 36 years old
It's looking good to my bold prediction and he benefited from Vingegaard's crash in PN.
