I think it's really just a case of how far he can get ahead of Aru, I think it's a blatant battle for second place, in the final week Contador will just dance away, too much experience, he knows what he's doing, he's just better.

If he can put a good two minutes into Aru (as Contador also should) then it'll make the battle for second place quite interesting.

You so don't like Contador to win do you. I started up not liking him in 2007. It was impossible for me to like him because he won his 2 first GTs without being the strongest in the field. Bu then Karma came along and stripped two titles (exactly one Giro and one Tour). All in all he has got all the trophies he deserves and he remains a great champion.
Buuut no matter how minutes Rigo takes this Giro won't be decided in a TT and no matter how stars align he remains the great favorite. I want the other riders to put him into difficulty so bad, but I want the strongest rider to win in the end.
   you and Taxus are a perfect match, even your nicknames are similar. Pathetic.

I think Uran is too bruised to win, he could barely walk yesterday, I doubt he can win the TT but I am not discounting him either
who is your favourite then? :)

I have no idea, Cataldo, Kiryienka, Zakarin, Amador, Boaro, Izagirre, or Uran, or Porte, or hell, even Aru, I really don't know.

Any experience with bad luck when you bet on Contador for the stage win? :p

It's a discussion for a different thread, but I doubt he can win, too long/flat for him, top 5 at least though, and as I said somewhere else I picked him for the win in a game :p

Bolded ones are sci-fi I think, but this is Giro heyy :D
Cataldo Kiri and Zakarin only if they care (I think only Cataldo is more than 90%)
...and the rest is Uran :D

and Alberto, who is my 2nd favourite :)

As I said, Uran is injured. It might not influence him at all, or it might influence him a lot. Time will tell. Contador 2nd favorite, only in my dreams. Good enough for a top 5 spot, but not a specialist so the win is highly unlikely.

Amador is a great tt'er in must be in good shape since he is climbing so well. The guy is 70+ Kgs. If it will be raining, he will definitely be in the top 3.

Only in your dreams not, for a lot of people, in fact I think he is the 3rd less payes in the bets.

Urán only have done two good ITT in his life in grandes Tours, an not much more in other races, so it as well in our dreams.

Your view of him is nice. He has experience and quality and he is in good shape. Maybe touched, as Uran, for crash, I dont know...

Uran needs his best to win or put a big time on his rivals.

I dont think nor Rigo nor Aru are going to attack or fight to be second. They are here to win and will be the road wich determine who win.

Uran 2 years ago admited Nibali was so strongh that the first place was no possible. sometimes is better admit that and figh to keep second that try something crazy... just sometimes... becouse for him then a second place was good... shouldnt be now.

I would like to have that Giro with good weather an not with rain and snow. Maybe things would be different, but with that conditions no way.

In this Giro there werent still any big stage, first is tomorrow, so we dont know if Contador is the strongest. It is soon to say he is just better. We will see. This weakend of course we will see some important things, but not everything, a bad day in Finestre and you can lost 5 minutes, even with the best team of the world.

that's why the Giro so far is nothing but full of surprises. On paper, Uran is the hot favorite. Contador got the experience, if he can manage his pacing, he would be top 3. But with him got knocked around by lady luck twice, dunno how he is feeling tomorrow. Aru said he has worked hard in his ITT. He has two bad days already, and last year he lost 3.37 to Uran w/ only 40km. In reality, they have started the Giro with 9 hard racing days (it's like everyday is a one day classic) and with the last 3 wet weather days that zaps everyone's energy. Tomorrow is about survival of the fittest. Who got the fresher leg and energy left. It might some outsider who has been soft pedaling all this time is going to win it. :D

Of course, remenber that Giro Uran was always there with Basso, Purito, Hesjedal and Scarponi, but at the end, in the Queen stage, with Mortirolo, Stelvio, and seversal clinbs more, the hardest stage I have ever saw, De Gendt put 3 30 with most of favourites and Cunego put 1 minute less, but still 2 30... so finally De gendt was podium of the Giro and Cunego 6m, been quite anonimous all the Giro.

People said that Giro was bad.. for me that stage worth more than all we have this Giro so far.

I hope Cunego or Hesjedal can still do that, but there are not so many and so hard mountain stages as that year. it was crazy.

I think Uran will do a good TT if the injuries are okay, same with Contador. Kreuziger does not seem to have the TT he had early in his career but should do okay. Uran's problem will be the mountains next week. With Aru falling behind Contador again, Astana will have to attack and Uran might struggle maybe not on every stage but on some. But I think the podium battle is far from over. The standings after the TT should be very interesting.

Ataraxus is not related to your username, trolling, or any fanboyism. It comes from ataraxia which means peace of mind in Greek. I have been involved in heated disputes with Contador fanboys/girls (guess who :p ) when I hailed his Ruta win against Contador. But I've been giving him merit/credit for every achievement of his.

Oh no no. Judgements about being pathetic from the most emotional and pathetic user in the forum can't be accepted.
I'm almost 20 years into the sport, I have watched stars shine and fade and I'm obviously past the stage of blindly following one specific rider, so when you climb up one stage and learn how to bolden properly, we can discuss.

Crucial day for Rigo.

Hope he has fully recovered from the injuries and does a very good TT to breathe new life to the GC Battle.

Thanks for the info.

Mine is a tree, a holy celtic tree, and in my town in Burgos lived some celtic people in the preromanian era, and we hacve some Taxus baccata close to my home.

I was in an spanish forum for several years, I did some very good friend there, that in most cases I keep, but I have as well some people that dont like me, and some of them read this forum, and others even write, so when I saw you nick I doubt, no more. :)

La florecita is a good suporter, he is quite objetive with Contador, in some spanish forum some people is not that way, he like him too much, and he is pasionate as Alberto. It is good that effect and as spanish I happy foreing people follow that way an spanish cyclist.

I have lot of reasons to dont like too much Contador, but anyway I always support all the cyclist, and he is not an exception. I lost in my day the objetivity with Mayo, maybe with Perico or Indurain as well, so I can understand when his fans lose that objetivity. Contador has good things and bad things, I try to be objetive with him, and try that people dont lose too much the obhetivity as well.

But this is Rigo thread..., and of course, I would like Rigo win him the Giro, today is very important and I want Contador at his best in it.

Aru is the best allie for Rigo in the mountains, the only possibility to drop Contador is counter attack an Aru or Astana Attack that contador had to follow. That or a bad day for Contador.

I admit Rigo cant drop Contador, he is more explosive and a really good climber, but if Rigo can follow Contador if Aru attack, maybe not at the begining, but later, or at least go with Aru while Contador go... he doesnt deserve to win this Giro...

He must be inteligent in race, as Contador is, and Togo usually is not, but he is getting experience, and he has Bramati, I rely on him.

Today Boonen abandon, but he did his work, it is only a remaining day that Boonen could help. Yesterday was very important for Rigo.

It wasn't a terrible ITT, it just wasn't what everyone expected. Then again, we weren't expecting him to be sick and injured. I think he did OK but he'll be lucky to podium by the end of the GIro.
