Re:
Serbia was always one of the best countries as far as team sports is concerned. If you look at the history of team sports, be it at the Olympics, Euro's or World's, Serbia, and really all the former Yugoslav countries, have had great success. Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Handball, Water Polo...look at the archives and you'll see medals in each of these sports. The basketball men's team isn't as good or deep as it's been in the past, but they play with an arrogance about them. They started off slow, but have gotten better with each game. They almost beat the US in their group game, so don't be shocked if they pull of the upset.
The women's volleyball team upset the Russians and Americans, back to back. If they beat China (arguably an 'easier' opponent) then it will be a much deserved gold medal.
The women's basketball team beat France to win bronze. A big achievement, I think.
The water polo final between Serbia and Croatia should be quite a show, if both play at a high level.
Croatia is having a heck of an Olympics, and they have a chance with more gold. One with the water polo and another with Blanka Vlasic in the women's high jump. I think if she wins gold, it would be quite a career ending. Not sure if there are any other possibilities for the Croats, but those two are ones that spring to mind right now. They can get to their 6 and 7 gold medal in Rio. For a small country with not a very strong economy, I think that's an achievement.
Serbia is at 5 medals (though only one gold thus far). They too, can add a couple more golds and total medals.

In team sports USA and Serbia lead the board with three finals each.
Also, Serbia has won a bronze in women's basketball and USA are fighting for the medals in volleyball.
