4/11 career wins in the TdF...

36.4%.

Anyone in the last 50 years with a higher percentage with 10+ career wins? Had a quick look and the only other semi-obvious ones I thought of and then confirmed had over 30% were:

Pantani was at 34.6% (9/26)
van Impe was at 34.5%. (10/29)
Virenque was at 33.3%. (7/21)

Guess Darrigade in the 50s and 60s with 22/60 (36.7%) is the last man to do "better".

But maybe I am missing someone aha.

Happy for Bardet and DSM.

The photo of the finish will be something DSM will never forget. Epic finish.

Let's see if Bardet can get another top 10 GC finish.

I have been down on Bardet in the past because I thought he was better at one-day races, that he didn't win enough for an attacking rider with his skills, and also that he would benefit from gaining 5 kg. But the last 2 years on DSM (or 3?) he's been almost as good as ever. Yesterday was a complete fairy tale, only would have been even better if it was in France rather than Italy.

TV2 did a series of interviews with various riders about the situations. One of the riders being interviewed was Degenkolb, mentioning how he (Bardet) would get to enjoy it.
Wonder if the enjoyment would have been quite as big if he'd still been in his Next French Tour Contender phase...

Merci Romain!

Bardet was one of the best today, he will leave Le Tour on his own terms. Bravo Romain! After the win and yellow that made this Tour a win, only one day in, Romain has had some so-so days but the goal was to find the form and pick targets. For the last "en ligne" stage, hats off. He was there. He leaves on top.

Bravo et Merci Romain!

Hear hear!
I always loved the guy, but ever since he almost died on that one ITT in Marseille trying to secure a podium spot, he made it to my list of favourites. He's always been an attractive and attacking rider, and from what I've seen, a pretty nice guy as well. Thouroughly enjoyed following his career. Bravo et merci indeed.

Au revoir Romain. Merci.
He gave me some great memories .... and some absolutely terrifying memories.
51 pages since I started this thread. Not bad son. Not bad at all.

Reckon I should change my profile pic?

He's racing until June 2025

I've forgotten.
Was it road racing until June next year, then switch to gravel. Or switch to gravel from the beginning of the year, then retiring.

(Silly me, should have just googled)

It's just the road career he's ending in June next year, then he'll switch to gravel. And he's actually being honest about it; saying that he's not retiring, just switching disciplines.
Unlike certain other people - host-Valverde-host - who claim they're retiring, then start doing gravel.
