Crossers rule the holly Flemish day.
How convenient.

Congrats to MVdP.
Ando no less to Van Aert.
Fingers crossed for Alaphilippe. He made the race today.

Incredible finish to a great race.
Finally MVDP has a monument the first one many I hope.
WVA a worthy second of course.

This was a phenomenal, breath-taking RvV, with a close battle between the two titans of this generation, way above the rest.

I'm just glad it's over. If this is the Boonen-Cancellara rivalry of the 2020s, I might as well be watching trains at the Tour if today is anything to go by.
These two were too evenly matched today to finish it any other way. They will have more aggressive finishes in the future I'm sure

Another unreal sprint by Kristoff after a hard race.

He launched his effort right after the 500m to go banner.

MvdP's strength: starting the sprint early and keep going.
SInce it was practically a standstill, there was nearly no advantage of coming out of the wheel. I think van Aert should have started sooner, because he is always great at long sprints. For me, van der Poel has more acceleration.

EDIT; Sven Nys just repeated what i said, lol.

Amazing RvV.
The biggest rivalry in cycling nowadays, both professionally and personally, and two riders with a personal connection to the region.
A lot of drama and emotion with an incredible finish.
And the most beautiful thing; this rivalry on the road has just begon.

Congrats to MvdP in any case

So beautiful finale, just beautiful.. Looked like Mathieu was bit more tired looking last k's and at the sprint he almost started to loose his technique, compared WVA, but superb bike throw. Two absolute superstars, and right where the endgame was played.

The tension between the two was obvious, and they were clearly head and shoulders above everyone except possibly Alaphillippe. They way they floated up the cobbles on the Paterberg compared to the chase group spoke huge volumes.

Like I said when they were on the Koppenberg, Van Aert didn't have a super day.

He starts his sprint a bit too late, because he wasn't confident enough and was on the limit.
