I didn't say it shouldn't be a dq. but to call him an idiot like a lot of people did is not needed. he will feel as bad as anyone.bs. he should not be riding outside the road just to take few places. this is the rules breach even without the crash...
Feeling bad doesn't make you immune to being an idiot though.I didn't say it shouldn't be a dq. but to call him an idiot like a lot of people did is not needed. he will feel as bad as anyone.
He went into a bog at a decent speed. He should be disqualified just for the poor bike handling skills. If you're a pro you should be able to keep the bike reasonably straight there.
no, but there is no need to say it is there? I can just imagine the twitter abuse he is going to get and its not needed.Feeling bad doesn't make you immune to being an idiot though.

He was tryna avoid the ditch... it is just really unfortunate what happened.
We see riders jumping on and off crosswalks all the time. Cutting corners.
Most of the riders in the peloton has done something similar. Does something similar in every race. Just not with these catastrophic consequences.
He is of course to blame and will most likely receive some sort of punishment, but there should not be a witch hunt out for the guy. He will probably have a tough time as it is now, for some time.
Oooh, poor sweet guy.no, but there is no need to say it is there? I can just imagine the twitter abuse he is going to get and its not needed.
I believe idiotic is a better description than stupid for that action.Doing something stupid, doesnt make you an idiot.
He made a big mistake. He will receive his punishment and it has already started by him being taken out of the race.
How is that relevant?I'm wondering how many of you who sh*t on Maciejuk have ridden a road race at least once in a life.
I believe idiotic is a better description than stupid for that action.
Exactly this.If you have rules for safety (you must stay on the road), and then hardly ever apply them, then riders will consider the rule to be optional, and will do what is unsafe. Every commissaire who has not applied the rule is partially responsible for that accident. Correct to DQ Maciejuk, but I wouldn't be in favour of further punishment. But Maciejuk wasn't the only rider who left the race road there.
Does that matter right now?I'm wondering how many of you who sh*t on Maciejuk have ridden a road race at least once in their life.
Boo hoo.no, but there is no need to say it is there? I can just imagine the twitter abuse he is going to get and its not needed.
You look at cycling in general and especially situations like this from another perspective if you yourslef have raced in a bunch. How is that relevant?
