Breakaways are all being back by teams trying to bridge to breakaways, it's not happening, the climbs start in an hour or so.
bit of an overeaction from a lot of people on here...the bahrain rider was at fault yes but that big mud track that caused him to be off balance and forced him into the peloton....it was just v unlucky that it was there.

I think you are having a bit of an underreaction. I mean if taking out the peleton get's legal why not always do it. That was so stupid I think he should stop bike racing out of shame.

What was he thinking

He was tryna avoid the ditch... it is just really unfortunate what happened.

We see riders jumping on and off crosswalks all the time. Cutting corners.

Most of the riders in the peloton has done something similar. Does something similar in every race. Just not with these catastrophic consequences.

He is of course to blame and will most likely receive some sort of punishment, but there should not be a witch hunt out for the guy. He will probably have a tough time as it is now, for some time.

Perhaps not with such catastrophic consequences because it was not the exact same situation.

You make it sound like riding off-track always carries x% chance of ending badly but perhaps most others just slowed down in this situation and it never made tv.
