oh yes and it is perfectly normal. the guy is 48 kg and kicks around 8 watt per kg weight. gravity tells you he will be unmatched in the real steep mountains. he is notorious in south america for many things but a true testimony to how strong he is in steep climbs are his incredible mountain itt's.

He's won 5 GTs. As much as you folks want it to happen, unless or until Rujano becomes a threat to AC's lead AC won't pay his attacks any mind. He's racing for the overall victory, not to prove he is a better climber than Rujano.

About Rujano reaching the Vuelta a Colombia form I am not sure. If he does, Rujano would be very tough to beat in the mountains (without including Contador) as Ryo has said before. Having said that, I don't believe he has that form. I still think that he is a little far from it. I really haven't seen very much from him before the Giro. Just sparks here and there.

But it would be nice to play the Rujano card on Contador in this Giro. It would be nice to distract him like Pantani did with Armstrong in the Tour 2000. I am just not sure if Contador would take him seriously.

come on dont be the ultimate fanboy. As much as I would like to see Rujano be number 1 , just because I am Venezuelan, I know it is impossible. Best he will do is KOM. Yes he is really good on mountains but he doesnt beat AC. I saw him this year go up mountain in mtb race and he is awesome.

Being annoyed is far away from hatred. I have said many times here I don't like Contador, but I don't recall ever seeing any signs of him that he's a spiteful or mean person; quite the contrary in fact.

Of course he wanted Rujano to go into the wind - duh, but that doesn't mean he was angry with him for not doing it. And in the end it didn't matter anyway.

I dont think he will. Cos he got over 5 mins on Rujano and knows he will take a handfull of minutes on the final flat TT he wont be covering Rujano as he was coverering Andy in last year's Tour. Also at some point he will start to think about conserving a little energy as he also needs to be able to do the Tour.

However, the other favorites need to worry a bit more about Rujano if he can keep up his good form. Also I dont think Rujano would be able to blow Contador up anyhow, but he could blow up the likes of Scarponi and Nibali.

That happens in a lot of breakaways, but that doesnt mean that half of the peloton hate eachother

He wasn't angry, he didn't look back after he asked that. Think Contador took a good look at his face and saw he was at his limit.

How is Contador a crybaby? He attacked from 7km out, caught Rujano easily, dropped Scarponi, asked Rujano once to work together on a not so steep part, saw his face and dropped him in the last 2km.

It's how Contador always climbs when in top shape. Accelerate fast to drop everyone to open op a big gap quickly and then climbs at more or less the same pace as his chasers. It's what makes him so good on the steep parts. Once you open up a small gap there, it's usually game over.

But Contador definitely would have gifted the stage away if Rujano worked together or did all the work. They could have taken more time then so 8 bonus seconds don't matter.

But the thing is, Rujano couldn't.
