I agree. He hadn't discovered the wonderful world of vector doping at that point. Pipeoli was able to guide him in the right direction.
I bet Mauro Perfluorcarbon Giannetti and Jose Taus werent afraid to give him directions too...

Ricky Ricco, a victim of the cycling society, yet outcasted by the clean cycling guru's.

Ah yes lets compare 2 stages completely out of context and draw conclusions from it. I bet Fabio Duarte had the Cera coming out of his ears and his veins were 50% plastic.

sounds legit and clean to me:rolleyes:
*In 2006, he joined Phonak, a team that made the rest of the field look clean by comparison.*

He downplays the Phonak disgrace as “the stuff that happens in this sport,” but Phonak was not merely rotten; it was corrupt to the core. Most of the team’s marquee names were banned and stripped of their titles and medals. Tyler Hamilton’s 2004 Olympic gold will forever be rubbished in light of test results that suggested blood doping. Santi Pérez was nailed during testing at UCI headquarters in Lausanne; 1998 world champ Oscar Camenzind was busted just before the Athens Games. And Floyd Landis’s victory in the 2006 Tour de France — the result of an inhuman feat of physicality in which he broke away on the race’s toughest mountain stage and finished an impossible six minutes ahead of the field — was reversed when tests revealed a heightened level of testosterone.*

Phonak exemplified the “asterisks era,” when Bonds and Roger Clemens and Landis and god after human god were knocked from pedestals and podiums, their wins annulled and their records granted speculative status. Andy Rihs, owner of the Swiss hearing aid firm Phonak had this to say when the men he was paying to win races turned out to be cheats: “Think hard before you get involved in cycling, because there are never any guarantees … where there’s money, there’s doping.”*

In the wake of the Phonak collapse, Hesjedal left Europe for the States. “It was like going to the minors,” he says. He signed with an American team called Health Net. But Christian Vande Velde, an American superstar who is Garmin-Cervélo’s stalwart veteran presence, points out something critical about that time: “When Ryder went back, he never gave up his apartment in Spain. That takes balls, man. It was a statement.” Hesjedal meant to return to the big leagues, on his own terms. “I just worked hard,” he tells me, “and created the right opportunities for myself. I didn’t sit somewhere cold and rainy in winter and say, ‘I gotta start training soon.’ ”

Worked hard.

And cleans at Phonak!

Even though he did not confess that he doped at Phonak, It would be perfectly fine for JV, as he stopped doping before 1 Jan 2008.

He'll need 8 years to play that card. But yes as long as he is a former doper who managed to win a GT clean we're good.

And he's done too many good thing for too many people.

The CCES said the World Anti-Doping Code has an eight-year statute of limitations and as a result Hesjedal won’t be punished.

Ryder didn't even have the balls to face the press himself with his nonconfession confession. A woeful liar who scores pretty high on the list of dopers I'd love to see exposed.

lol, with his career on the line in 2007 he was desperate for results, working harder than he ever had before to seriously challenge some European pros...

Of course, IIRC, he couldn't even beat a handful of continental pros at his National championships.

how knowing things make a difference

here's Ryder thread from the road session viewtopic.php?f=6&t=17273&start=420
applause and kudos

I think Ryder's fault is lying about his past and not getting a suspension (did he get the winter 6 months, don't remember)

otherwise I would not explain the harsh criticism about him having a good last week, while the 3/4 riders in front of him in GC blew the race apart from day 1.
ok, the juice is helping, both him and them

better lie and say I'm clean, or shut up and blow 'em all in the gutter like Astana did in the Giro?

I don't think Ryder is clean
but reading some clinic here and some twitter, I had the impression Ryder is worse than Astana.
like it's a given Astana are on the juice, people laugh at their utter strength, while Ryder is thrown mud to, because of his re-born last week form

I think it goes back to the JV talk of clean team, new generation, stopped doping (and obviously Ryder admitting doping and saying he stopped)

people can't stand the hypocrisy I guess.

talking about Matt Cooke, I hope he writes a book or at least let us know something more about what he knows about Ryder.

he says Ryder is a liar, bad person, he stopped his career. well, I say, tell us more.

about the gritty Ryder performance, I cannot dislike it, and you know why? because I never raced, I never doped/raced clean, I don't know how it FEELS to be clean and watching other doped contenders go faster than you. I don't know the background stories. so my feelings are not touched by those things I don't know.

I think that could be also a reason of bitterness and revenge feeling. Clean riders are pizzed at us, the fans, who support a rider just because we like how he races, while THEY know something is wrong with that, and cannot stand our cheering for this or that rider.

see here Haas supporting Ryder

Haas is just cheering for a team mate. but dear oh dear, it was retweeted by Vayerism, Matt Cooke, Digger and co.

that's the neverending question about how is doping perceived by the racers INSIDE the pro cycling circus
