Samuel Samu Sanchez official awesomness thread.

One of the hardest TDFs in history.

Cometh the hour Cometh the man.

As expected, the approach of the Tour has flooded the home of cycling (cycling news forums) with thread upon threads making speculations ranging from as to whether the greatest cyclist of our generation can be allowed to race, will be allowed to race, should be allowed to race, to whether totally unproven tt specialists will somehow manage a top 10.

Almost every man and his dog ever mentioned for a TDF top 10 has its own thread.

Here are just a few examples.

Contador http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=14035
Basso http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=13869#
Schleck http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=14093
Martin http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=13833
Gesink http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=13775
Levi http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=14104
VDB http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=13775
Kloeden http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=12484
Evans http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=13855 (and many others)
Brajkowic http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=14073
CVV http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=12027

But there is one piece in the puzzle that is still missing.

It has been found.

I bring you the official thread of Samuel Sanchez Gonzalez.

The man who represents this thing of ours at the highest table of world sport.

The man who wears the helmet every child around the world dreams of wearing.

Some say it was passed down to him from King Arthur himself.

So loved across the galactiverse, he is instantly recognised around the world by the simple four letters.

Samu.

So here is, the man, the legend, from Oviedo Asturias Spain, riding for Euskatel Euskaudi, he weighs in at 65kg (add 3kg for the Olympic medal around his neck) and measures 175cm in height,

Samuel "Samu", "Sammy" "SamSan" "The Olympic Champion"

Sanchez

GOOOONNNN

ZALEZ!!!!

Screw you for taking up my second post.

I forgot, your threads take 3 posts before they're open! :p:p

The 2nd post is all yours now! :D

BTW, Sanchez is a fun rider to watch. Go get your podium, son!

sorry but can't agree. Those are pretty emphatic but this one trumps them all:

I'll give you that one for certain.

For Samu it's his overall body of work, lots of quality vehement salutes simultaneously eliciting both the joy of a professional winning his first race, and the class of someone who has been there time and time again.

Theres the one in my OP where he does the peace sign as well (just edited it in)

I wish he had the jersey zipped up. It would have been so epic if, he turned around to look at his competition, zipped the jersey, than gave the peace sign.

Granted the race conditions didn't allow him the time for the zip-up, so there's no doubt in my mind he would have done so if time had been allotted for it.

The more important question is, who whill he lose a sprint to this year's Tour? Is it Bradley Wiggins? Kloden? Leipheimer?

Or will he get outdescended by Moncoutie at the descend of the Tourmalet?

All these questions will be answered in the next episode of the Tour. On your tv in July.

And what crackpot battles will El Pistrollero be fighting against the forum.

Will it be that BMC is now a Belgian team? Will it be that Fabian Cancellara is overated.

Or maybe well get 3 pages of back and forth about how its an insult to call Ullrich Der Kaiser because Kaiser Willhelm II had to abdicate in 1917.

This is about Samu, stick to the topic!

Actually I asked very legit questions if you watched him race this season. Although I'm sure he'll be on his A-Game and not let Kloden humiliate him again :p
