I think wanting anyone you haven't personally met, or anyone at all for that matter, is a bit harsh, do you race? Have you crashed?

Second that. One could wish them not having good luck but wishing some one to crash / injure themselves is ridiculous. I know a few idiot amateur cyclists but still I'd never wish anyone one of them to crash.

I haven't met Stalin or Napoleon in person. Still i don't like them and would want many bad things for him if he still lived;)

Ah now I get it :) I always thought people didn't like Andy because he whines. Never knew he has a history of genecides...

Also, it might be worth keeping in mind that a leopard rider died earlier this year due to a downhill-crash. Doesn't make his comment any more right, but it does make it more understandable.

If you were a true cycling fan you wouldn't be saying such things.

You know, I am growing extremely tired of these cyclist-haters. One day it's the doping issue, another day it's the fact that the cyclist does not do what they want.

Methinks moderators ought to do a much better job of making sure respect is paid to those who deserve it: The cyclists.

i don't think anyone here (who watched the Giro) has forgotten.

still, you don't hear his old team whinging or Farrar (well, a bit the other day) and they knew Wouter far better... in that instance, the descent was not considered dangerous. it was a freak (and very very sad) accident.

the whole peloton has, to some extent, been riding a little nervous since.

but no one else is complaining. nor did Andy until he fell behind.

funny that he didn't speak up when many of his challengers crashed out

Bavian, just shut the **** up. Really.

I'll third that sentiment. I think the Schlecks are whiny babies but come on, you'd think they were serial killers the way some people are going on about them. They are just imperfect bike racers, a little young and immature. With age they will learn to just shut up and go about their business like a Contador.......who has never whined and moaned despite the exceptional bad luck that has fallen on him during this Tour.

Sorry, Susan. Bavarian's outrageous comment pushed me over the edge, so I thought I'd use an idiom that he/she could understand..

You know every single sports movie you've ever seen? There's a rich team, with all the gear, all the equipment, special training, all sorts of support. And they act like the world owes them a victory. They object when their opponents work harder, fight harder etc.

Andy and Frank remind me of that situation. They have every advantage - and they are complaining all the time.

They were with the Steve Jobs of cycling team managers before. They betrayed him in an almost hostile buyout. Now. It turns out they cannot even use Powerpoint with own competence and without old mastermind!

The interviews are so out-of-Fortune-500- and bull****-bingo-like, it is a great laugh. At their expense. Rijs, once business is done, will surely find time for some bellyaching-producing-laugh, too.

The Schlecks are smart to ride safely in the rain on the descent where Belokis career ended. let us not forget Wouters death also. cyclists with common sense, the Schlecks. obviously they remember Ocanas crash in the rain also.

Isn't the level of safety dependent upon one's descending skills and their confidence in the same skills? The debate isn't whether they were smart to ride safely (for them) but whether Andy should be complaining about it afterwards, using it as an excuse to mask his getting dropped on the climb that led to the descent.
