I really hope that Andy ****s up his gears tommorow in an attack. Stops, looks over his shoulder, sees a little fella from Saxo Bank overtakes him while pointing his middle finger at him and then slowly - but still with a visable middle finger pinted - disappearing in fog from the acceleration..

If that happens I would like to see a youtube video from Contador saying: "I'm sorry Candy, I saw you but I didn't care, you have to learn to shift"

That's only going to cause more whining...:p

Evans said that the reason why there was a gap at the start of the descent was that Andy got over the KOM 1st and by the time Evans came up to Andy after Smmy and Contador had go past Andy was all over the road and hard to pass and nearly went off.

i think he's suggesting that he's nervous about the next two days and is attacking wherever he can to make up time instead of just trying to top them in one go in the alps - if that makes sense.
I get the feeling that the schlecks believe that this year's tour will be won by one great attack on one stage, rather than gradually piece by piece like Contador is doing.

some boxers go for the round by round points and punch "lightly but constantly", where as others just go for a haymaker knock-out regardless of what time in the match they land it. hope the analogy works

Contador probably isn't so confident on his form and that's why his taking time everywhere he can. So the Schlecks are probably onto something here. This doesn't mean that Contador won't drop every one else tomorrow but this Tour has been different than his previous grand tours.

Maybe Andy is working secretly for his BFF Contador and that everything so far has been a brilliant ploy to fool people and help Contador and his second dad Riis win another Tour....

or Andy is an idiot.

On the contrary, I think what he meant to say was that he considers Contador "nervous" in the sense that he tries to gain time left and right, using the weaknesses of his opponents (he also said he's not judging him for that, it's his god given right to do so) and slowly but surely getting back into immediate contention.

Sure, that statement still was pretty concentrated onto both the Schlecks being among the big favourites, but that's obvious considering the interview was for the Luxembourg TV station...

I'm still in firm belief that Frank just expressed his statement poorly, because he was caught in the moment or what have you

I am no AC fan, but IMO, attacking on the descent is fine, as long as you don’t do it in a manner that endangers anyone around you. Descending is a part of racing as much as climbing… what goes up must come down. Time to STFU Andy and race.

Ofc its fine to attack on a descent. Its a part of cycling, and a beautiful part when guys like Nibali do it. And the way Contador descented today was great.

I am amazed that the Schlecks are still so obsessed with Contador what they only have eye for him and stil forget to worry about Evans for real.

Contador said the following after todays stage, and he is so right:

"It seems as though the Schlecks are awaiting me to attack but I just do my kind of race and that's all.”

Andy said in an interview today that he is watching Alberto, Cadel, and Sammy -- so i don't think he's completely clueless.

What is it with these guys and ridiculous excuses? That didn't happen. Even if CE was boxed in a bit, there is no way AS was riding where CE couldn't pass. The comment made it seem that AS was weaving all over the road like a drunk (it's July, not September). It's not as if CE was a minute behind and caught AS after a long descent. It was a few seconds at most. Not enough to get up to full descending speed.

Now CE has [re-]joined the Schleck whining club.

Andy: 'I'm not really happy with the cold and rainy weather as it was yesterday so I was feeling better today.. '

Journalist:'But Andy, it's going to be really cold tommorow..?'

Andy:'yeah.. emh.. But it's uphill finish...'

Somewhere in this picture, way back there, so far back he is out of frame, Andy is watching Contador, watching him ride away.

I never believed he only watched Contador. Half the time he's watching Fränk.

What I notice these days is that Contador is getting fiercer in his interviews. Saying not so nice things about the Schlecks and telling he's going to crack everyone. Not his usual style, but he must be pretty confident :p He even said god damn it while being interviewed today lol.
