I am always willing to re-evaluate my position when other people make points: Of course the Murdoch influence in the British Press cannot be ignored, and perhaps I underestimated its potential influence. But I happen to enjoy Richard Moores writing. Would he be strong enough to do a Krimmage? I doubt it, but we can't all be heros.
It hadn't occurred to me that Bobbins might be British, but now that you mention it. He was, however, unlike you, making a valid point
Maybe in future I'll look at the name of the poster and decide if it'll be worth reading......might reduce our interaction though
;)

You must be hard of reading or something.

I say "He's a sky employee" and you call me "slagging off Richard Moore".

Bobbins says "He's in Sky's pocket" and you give him props for being able to school you in reevaluating your position after making a point.

So let me just clarify here:

"In Sky's pocket" is NOT slagging someone off.
"A Sky employee" IS slagging someone off.

Is that how it goes?

Good effing grief.

He is freelance but is also smart enough to know which side his bread is buttered on. If I remember right, Robert Miller was upset with some aspects of the book although I am happy to be corrected on this.

He is well embedded with Team Sky and never speaks off message about them or factors affecting them.

Surely his research into the 100m finals would have uncovered the connection between Angus Fraser, Johnsons chemist and Brian Smith.

One of the Sky senior management commented in the past that thee are lots of people making lots of money off the back of their sponsorship and Richard Moore is one of them. He'll never rock the boat.

Here's what one reviewer said:
For me the most exciting part of the book must be the Epilogue, where Richard shares his e-mail communications with Robert Millar about the writing of the book. What a fascinating exchange.

Robert Millar was more than 'upset' with Richard Moore. However, this had more to do with the way Millar gave him his time, and then what Moore wrote about him led to the Daily Mail trailing Millar and his partner, doing a big expose on his new trans-gendered identity. Not that being a trans-sexual should in itself should be seen as a big deal, but unfortunately we live in a world of bigots and intolerance, and I can quite understand why Robert didn't want Moore to do anything that could have led to his new life being made public, especially by a quite frankly fascist publication such as the Mail.

Actually, what is of interest about Millar's story is how he is one in a long line of people who got to the top because they couldn't come to terms with some deep personal issue, or perhaps because they were aware of the way others would perceive them if their 'true self' was made public. Another example is Graham Obree, whose self hatred arising from his homosexuality, and in turn his search for acceptance, validation or whatever, led him to drive himself to the limit on a bike. Self loathing, insecurity, sociopathy: all good traits to have if you are to be driven enough to get to the top, or so it often seems!

I heard today that Sean Yates was spotted in an unmarked car at the Tour of the Algarve....interesting.

Any news of what Yates is doing at the mo ??

Confidant to the "Pro's".

He's the new Rudy Pevenage or Stefano Ferrari.

The link man. Between rider to Doctor.

Retires due to ill health then lines up at a local elite road circuit race. Then this. He's really taking the **** isn't he!

Raising his head to promote his book.

"There is no one at Sky who knows much about bike riding"

Some even suggested Yates's health issues were associated with doping in his riding career. He ignores those comments.

Not a bad article from the Guardian....written with a hint of sarcasm

Given how bitter Yates seems to be about the way he was forced out at Sky, it's quite surprising he hasn't chosen to reveal any of his dark secrets about Sky's doping programme in this new book. Obviously he didn't want his sons to know the truth about what their dad used to get up to, that's the only explanation I can think of. Now he's lumbered with a book which will barely sell a copy when he could easily have had a massive best seller on his hands.

certainly not now, not yet, and perhaps never.

Yate says Sky no nothing about bike racing, but what would he have added, as he only drove the car:D

Yates has done the hard yards, I disagree with what he says but who wants perfection.

Where did that "know nothing about cycling" come from, it's certainly not in that article, or is it a rambling on "a large knowledge gap" ? Ridiculous clinic extrapolation as usual...

Oh and maybe he doesn't reveal anything about doping at Sky because there is nothing to reveal ? Oh wait, someone here has solid evidence that they are doped to the gills...

"he has had two strokes and has a pacemaker fitted to his ailing heart"

Didn't know that, wow that's terrible, how can he even be climbing Mont Ventoux and Alpe-d'Huez with a pacemaker ?!

"I still believe he [Armstrong] is a phenomenal athlete and still the biggest engine ever to get on a bike, apart from maybe Chris Froome," Yates told PA.

Na this is a typo, what he meant to say was "biggest engine ever to be put on a bike" see the subtle difference,

“To be brutally honest, there is no one at Sky who knows much about bike riding." Yates CN

Well this is what I've been trying to say all along.....remember Dave Brailsford's missing years out in France and none existent Palmares. Ummm - the clinic loves shooting the messenger but it is a fallacy.
