It's really more about who you compare him to. He doesn't have the talent of Pog, Rog, Vingegaard or Evenepoel, and he just happens to step into the gap that Rog has left in the team. But I find it hard to argue he doesn't have the talent of many GT leaders in the peloton right now.

I agree but it would probably have been the same outcome. The terrible weather on stage 10 would likely have been too much as was the case with Vlasov.

He’s just better on GTs. He’ll start to wake up when it’s time. Not sure how he’ll do as a marked rider though.

I think we're losing sight of the real question here, which is, who did he let sit in the front of the car because of being too good for this world?
