I really doubt Wiggins will be leader there.

He will got to Vuelta to prep up for the worlds ITT. Not a leader imo

Work for Wiggins?Really?at uphill sprint race?oh dear...

Don't worry, he's just saying that to stay on Wiggo and sky's good side and ensure he looks like a faithful teammate willing to put his ambitions aside for others. He doesn't need a Henao-Wiggins leadership controversy like Wiggins was having with Froome. When they get down to racing, I'm confident he will be the one riding away from Wiggins who won't have the form or correct skill set to do that well in the Vuelta anyways.

I think you and Gloin are right. Henao will have to tow the line and claim Wiggins is leader in order to boost that British interest in the Vuelta, but come the Vuelta, Henao will be given freedom to leave Wiggins in his wake. Wiggins/Sky will then use the excuse, probably genuine, that he is just using the vuelta to prepare for the worlds. Hopefully Wiggins will then win the world TT jersey and retire, leaving Froome, Henao and Porte to lead Sky at a GT each.

I think he should be. He has the talent to. Whether he will be is another matter, whether it be for lack of opportunity, willingness, or ability to adapt to Europe.

Hope he´d be groomed by SKY. Now that Rigo is just about gone to Omega_
Regarding the comment made by some ignorant dude about Clinic issues, it´s just the opposite. The EPO era worked against Colombians, who happen to have a high natural haematocrit level due to their mostly andean upbrinbing.

it was long known already he would be leader in the Vuelta this year.

Dave Brailsford mentioned a few weeks back that if Wiggins doesn't do the tour Henao would replace him. This doesn't make sense if Henao is planned to be the leader at the Vuelta. Perhaps DB mispoke (or was intentionally misleading) and Uran will be the one replacing Wiggins so that Henao can lead the Vuelta. We'll see when Sky announce the team.

Henao will DEFINITELY not be on Tour team.

He has too long of a season already and run out of steam in 2nd week of Giro.

I think next race for him will be Pologne. Then Vuelta a Burgos . And the big one. Similar schedule to last year. ( maybe not Pologne but instead riding Sebastian )

Pologne with the two stages in Italy suits him perfectly. He probably will be at the start.

Uran might be the leader, or they may be co-leaders

Nope. Henao will solely as I'll explain.

Obviously Uran will co lead as you say in case anything happens, but it will be Uran drilling it for Henao when needed and helping him.

Not otherwise.

Given the circunstances of how everything has developed for both of them, contract wise, and Uran already placed high in the Giro, I would think that Henao would be the leader. Not only that, they are roomates. It would be a tough thing to be the leader again and do that to your roomate.

Uran is better than Henao, but he will focus more in Lombardia I think, he has just had his podium in a GT, so maybe is time for Henao, and let Uran focus more in other races.

That way I hope Uran help him the same Henao at the end of the Giro

They are friends anyway, they rode for the same Team in Colombia.

At this moment yes. Maybe because of experience. But IMHO Henao is better than Uran.

Uran rent the house to Henao and Quintana so they are rather close friends.

At last Giro Henao was sick if I remember correctly so I would think he was well below his normal level.
I expect much from Henao at next Vuelta and Im sure Uran will be there to help him as they seems to trust each other a lot.

I have followed them since 6 years ago, and I dont think so. Uran has more potential that he have showed. Anyway he has been up there in very important races: Giro, Olimpics, Lombardia, Liege,...and some victories.
Henao could have less experience in Europe, but they born in the same year, and he started as early as Uran in cycling, with some races un Europe and North America before SKY.

Froome mentioned something about working for others later in the season. I can't imagine he's going to be riding with Wiggins so that rules out Colorado and Britain and looking at the other stage races on Sky's schedule it only really leaves the Vuelta. Of course maybe he was referring to the worlds although I can't imagine who he would ride for there. Don't be that surprised if Froome rides the Vuelta with Porte in support of Uran and Henao.

What's wrong with Henao? He seems to have gone backwards since the first ITT at the Giro, which coincidentally was when I lost the avatar bet and was forced to use this current avatar.

I've been given permission to restore my original avatar, should I do it?

He might have been extra tired after the ttt. They made a tactical mistake and accidentally dropped their big ttt engine too early. Henao actually dropped him when he took his turn after EBH had done his. There was a slight uphill, Henao was feeling good and EBH couldn't get back on. Probably the team and especially Henao had to work extra hard to compensate after that, and that might have had an effect for the next stage.

Then there is also the factor of having a mountain finish so early in the race. Apparently some have more problems with that than others. Uran was just about able to stay in the first group, so he was tired too.

I don't think there is anything to worry about. Though I never expected him to get more than max top 5, so my expectations might be a bit lower than what others are expecting of him. He is still young and has a lot to learn.

And IMHO Uran is currently better, though I think Henaos long term potential is higher.

Anyway, this could set the stage for a long distance Henao attack while everyone watches Uran. Kind of like the Uran/Wiggo combo in the Giro.

Fun racing ahead!:)
