Conversation with Garmin Sharp Team Leader Andrew Talansky.

Andrew-Talansky-Vuelta-stage-six_2816127.jpg

Hi Andrew. Nice to meet you. I want to make u some questions, so it will take a couple of minutes.

AT: "No problem"

First of all. Why are you called "The Pitbull"?

AT: "Haha. I am a very temperamental guy. That's what people say."

How are you feeling in this first week of the Tour de France?

AT: "I feel very good. I worked really hard in the set up for the race. I was playing altitude training for three weeks. Also i recognized the MT stages and TT's of the race. I think i couldnt have done more. Now my legs are responding well to the efforts."

Talansky is seventh in the overall. Dont you think u are a bit far in the GC?

AT: "I thought at this point i'd be better classified. But we did a bad TTT among other things. Too much time lost in the cobble stage too. I am 7°. As you say maybe a bit far from Van Garderen but this only have just started."

Your first part of the season was really impressive winning some stage races. What do you expect in this TDF?

AT: "I want my first GT. IMO i am prepared. Is going to be complicated. Van Garderen is superlative. Dombrowski too. The climbers Quintana and Pinot arent too far. We'll see but at the moment i aspire to everything."

Many voices have said you have lost some weight. Is it true? Do you expect a big improvement in the mountains?

AT: "It's true. Probably. I hope this."

Thanks for your time.

55 kms to the finish line... Michael Van Staeyen (Lotto) Adriano Malori (Lampre) and Michael Morkov (TSB) relay in the breakway.

They have a good gap of 7'20"

In the peloton Argos Shimano is now beginning to work together with OPQS.

This was a big big advertisement break:D

¡20 kilometres left! The peloton is riding really fast with OPQS at the head... Tony Martin is doing a great work for his teammate Mark Cavendish.

The breakway have 2'30"!! ¡so maybe this will be a heart stopping finish!

Last 15... Argos is advancing in the right side.... Three riders left for Cavendish: Tony Martin, Matteo Trentin and Andrew Fenn. Orica Green Edge is very well placed with Cameron Meyer, Rohan Dennis, Leigh Howard and of course Matthew Goss.

1'50"!! If i had to bet i would bet for the breakway. Malori, Van Staeyen and Morkov are very good rouleurs, specially Malori which is also a good TT'er, and they are realying without contemplations...
