contrary to cyclingnews headline, this wasnt his first pro win.

But his first for sky after a bucketful of podiums, well deserved.

Appollonio and Guardini will ensure Italy get any sprinter's WC for the next 12 or so yrs.

Nah, Brailsfords going to make him live in Manchester and in three years we can claim him. ;)

It's good to see cyclists who look like they eat and wouldn't get beat in an arm wrestle by a 9 year old girl

67kg isnt exactly chunky either

Wouldn't say Sagan has a chance in a pure sprinter's race, but you may want to add Greipel there, sure he's not young but he'll be around for at least part of that 12 years.

with guardini and appolonio becoming this fast, you most be real p+ssed. you know what will happen to giro stages :)

Well, varying degrees of "sprinters", I wouldn't say Matthews would win in an easy race either. Sagan impressed me with his California efforts. I doubt Greipel could beat an elite field of sprinters, whereas maybe Degenkolb will, depending on how he develops.

This race seems to have been a bit of a snoozefest...

Leopard locked the race down. That they moved the arrival of the queen stage 40 km after the last hill to one sponsors headquarters doesn't help either
