She said it on the internet. Doubly true.

Girlfriends and wives have known to be 100% impartial when it comes to their partners doping.

History has shown that the wives and girlfriends of riders don't tolerate their boyfriends/husbands doping...

So even with the rate previously described, it seems like Kenya's actually not one of the worst places for incidence of the disease, with Niger and Angola being the worst-affected, followed by Mali and Mozambique. Still, it's a significantly higher risk than anywhere with any kind of cycling tradition with the exception of Eritrea.

Thanks for posting this.
Constructive input to the debate.

As Bilharzia affects rbc's there are some interesting issues/questions:
- to what extent has this negated his blood passport history as readings will be nigh impossible to interpret
- what TUE's have been approved to date
- has Froome ever received EPO or similar rbc/haem replacement/boosters
- is there any possibility that a latent virus infection, whilst suppressed, indirectly overstimulates endogenous EPO production. If so can the parasite treatment be considered performance enhancing? Compare this line of thinking with the debate about Pistorius' blades if he were to actually have won a medal...

Would this not show up in testing?
Medical information can be viewed as private (I wouldn't want everyone to know I was on anti-depressants, for example) but I think cycling fans have a right to more information in this case. As soon as I hear the word blood, I am suspicious.
I remember Phil Liggett talking about Lance near the beginning, saying how impressed he was with Lances knowledge of his disease/body and how its affected by different things....it just rang alarm bells with me (though not with Phil!!)

Well wadda ya know. Neither is this.

Another "mellow" post from a fellow known to bellow at those who think the yellow from 2012 is not quite kosher.

OK, let's just see what we have here.
3 posters who all believe Sky dope.
However, LS is also prepared to produce some real, solid
info on Bilharzia for folks to look at and is certainly of consideration.
LS is also prepared to entertain the idea that it would most likely be contracted in Kenya.
LS deserves both credit and proper responses for sound research.

Instead, we get some utter nonsense about sharing a contaminated needle, which would probably have to be with some Angolan and then scorn for the gf for suggesting the most likely method of contraction.

This, from those who were complaining about the Sky thread highjacked and turned into farce by Sky fanboys.

Here's something a bit more constructive. First paragraph:
http://www.cttm-kenya.com/docs/schisto.pdf

Certainly seems to be rife in Kenya's lakes etc.

According to the scientist ,between 10-100 percent of people living along Lake Victoria are affected with the bilharzia parasite thus the need to eradicate the scourge in the region.

http://blog.jaluo.com/?p=13267

In fact, according to the WHO, Kenya is one of the 11 countries in eastern and southern Africa with a high burden of bilharzia, which is also known as Schistosomiasis.

However, Kenya hopes to eliminate the disease within the next 5 years:

<snip>

More than 3 I would guestimate.

Sky have done nothing to dispel the suspicion about them. Every thing they have done since USADA has pointed to them trying their best to offload those creating the suspicions without offloading Wiggo and Froome.

The anti-doping posters in the Clinic pointing the fingers at Sky and getting labeled "haters" pale into insignificance compared to how Wiggins and Sky in general treat Froome. It's ridiculous.

Froome is with Sky. Sky is even burnt into his leg because their knicks are not sun-proof where the Sky letters are printed.

Wiggins, by hating Froome, is the biggest Sky hater around. He even lambasted the poor fellow in a publicly published biography. A biography he's getting paid to write and publish... and denigrate a Sky pro cycling team member. Hater extraordinaire.

I think you may have missed the point.
It was simply about taking the Bilharzia debate
offline and back to it's lowest common denominator.
Not about camp numbers.

Protected by confidentiality only Froome can divulge the information you want.

Edit: This is the Clinic -- that means doping-related. Please put general team news in the appropriate sub-forum.

Thank you.

No way. Froome is in the "are you kidding me?" kind of way. He showed a bit of promise back in 2008, but since then the only thing he's done that's been even half-memorable is planting it on San Luca in the '09 Giro. He's always been able to do a reasonable TT and do a reasonable climb or two, but for him to be where he is and riding the kind of riders he's been riding off the wheel, not just superdomestiquing at the end of week 1, but riding for the GC at the end of week 2, is fishier than a family platter at a sushi restaurant.

I'll pay that!

So who thinks Sky are going to implode next year now that Wiggins has declared he wants another crack at the Tour? I sense tension building. I can hear claws sharpening among the women in the background.

Poor Froome. Can't even get a leg up now that Rogers is gone. Poor Richie Porte too. He's going to have both Wiggins and Froome all over him. Looks like Kennaugh and Thomas will be fighting for the final spot in the New Fantastic Four.

Why the sudden change by Wiggins? Did somebody here send him a tweet or a postcard? thehog, did you send him a bouquet with a message saying he was past it? Whoever it was, thank you! Wiggins jumping in on Froome's parade will really upset the apple cart. 2013 is going to be awesome.

There is enough talent within Sky's ranks to make up for any such squabbles which may hinder their performance.

Though a failure in the Tour will be disappointing, though not totally defining.

Them tearing chunks out of each other on the road should be more entertaining then wtatching their missus' doing it on Twitter anyway.

Makes sense anyway, to have them bioth of the road at the Tour. The first week lottery of crashes might take one out then they have a plan B. In 2011, when Wiggins was a genuine contender having just smashed the eventual winner Evans in the Dauphine, he went down and Sky were chasing shadows for the rest of the tour, a bit like Garmin this year.

Oops, nothing doping related there

What happened to Wiggins riding the Giro? Is this still going to happen? History says he won't/can't do well at both...

Doubt he will unless Sky have developed some even better
super juice, er..swim techniques.

Wiggins #1 priority next year is the Giro
#2 priority is the Tour
He'd like to defend his title and be team leader, but chances are, Froome will be Sky's #1 man, at least to begin with.
Wiggins is very unlikely to win both, but it'd be odd if he didn't ride the tour after winning last time. Lots of winners in the old days rode for teammates the following year, and Wiggins knows his cycling history.
How Froome feels about it, is quite another matter!!!

Sounds like the Director of the Sky documentary on Sky TV is passing around the script early. Create tension. We need to sell is thing around the world. Pretend you don't like each other.
