Thanks for the updates. A long way to go but it sounds like he's made a lot of progress since his transfer.

It sounds like the team is taking good care of him and his family. It must be incredibly difficult for his wife. It sounds like she didn't bring their child over yet?

Knowing it makes Soler happy will make me happy every time I see Uran in that white jersey.

If it makes Soler happy, I hope for Uran in white and Rojas in green...make some happy news for Soler and Movistar!

There have been a lot of encouraging signs, but from my experience seeing this kind of thing first hand, I can say this one line from the link is the most encouraging as he is able to do both things that many with even light head trauma sometimes have trouble doing:
He already recognises the people from his environment and started talking. You can keep short conversations with him. He's still really tired, and that's normal due to the magnitude of the blow he suffered, but his progress is good, especially during this last week.

I was surprised to read about his leg being immobilized so long after his crash. Does anybody know more about his non-head injuries? Maybe they had to delay treating his leg? Of course, his brain is the most important thing but it's all connected and I'm worried about the rest of him too.

Re the article today it sounds as if he is coming along in a positive manner. I sure hope his head injury is healing as well...
Conversation and recognition are good signs. Hang in there Mauricio!
:)
Best wishes to you.

Thank goodness. It was a very nasty head injury. It's a really good sign that he's making such progress. All the best to him and his family, it must be very difficult for his wife.

I hope all these good thoughts can transfer through the ether and help MS in his recovery...

Continue on this road to a fruitful recovery!

I don't have a link to any updates, but a couple of commentators on UK coverage have now indicated Soler may be unlikely to make a full recovery, never mind resume his career. Lets hope Lastras' finish line prayer gets answered - a cyclist I really enjoy watching.

Do you know if they had any sort of new information or if they were speculating? Because I don't think there's been any news in a while, but they might have talked to the team directly.

Regardless, at this point Soler is going to keep improving until he fully recovers or until the improvement stops, but either way it's going to be slow and probably not in the news.

Last I read was this article:

This was on 12th August and seemed quite encouraging - he had just started walking again at that point.
Wow, I hadn't seen that. It's awesome - not just that he's walking, but that no significant brain damage seems to be apparent. They're talking more about his physical rehabilitation than anything else in that article. That's great news.

Yep. Nice story about Pedro Horillo visiting as well. I just hope nothing's gone wrong since then - hopefully the ITV commentators just weren't fully updated on his condition.

If there's one thing I know it is that those guys are tough! I wouldn't put it past him to make a full recovery and comeback. :)

Yet in the end the only thing that truly matters is his health, and his choice. If he decides to end his career at any rate, then so be it. The sport of cycling will have lost a great rider, but at least the world will not have lost a great person.
