Enough of a reason?
Well, no, since Cycle Chic has been rather adamant about this thread not being about doping. :p

If we're going to go down that route, gee, of course GreenEdge is suspicious. Their DS is Stephens for crying out loud.

I didn't mean OGE were not doping - all the top teams are...my observations are that this first week 'is not normal' and its been contrived to give exposure and publicity to Australia and then Africa.

Sean Kelly has said on numerous occasions that the TTT was ridiculous and he couldn't believe the understanding of such a short TTT. Easier to 'doctor'.....7 hundredths of a second ?

As Robert Millar states

Definitely been Orica-GreenEdge's week though, a stage in Corsica, the team time trial win and the yellow jersey for Simon Gerrans and then Daryl Impey. They would have signed up for just one of those happenings never mind all of them and after their previous Tour disappointment, it's Christmas come early for the Australian squad.

Stinks just like Wiggins last year and his customised TDF route.

Don't forget how they lowered the finish line gantry on Stage 1 to trap the GreenEdge bus. I don't see a connection to any conspiracy theory in that but I'm sure you do.

If its conspiracy theories we're after though in this thread, I've got one.

CC believes in the so called Anglo conspiracy in cycling. CC decided that proof positive of the Anglo conspiracy on top of Sky's dominance last year would have to involve OGE. CC decided that once OGE performed well that would be the death knell for anti-Anglo conspiracists.

Unfortunately for CC its a false start because now the likelihood of her theory being accepted relies upon one's willingness to accept that it is more likely 1,000s of subtle variables have been deliberately and delicately manipulated than that OGE have the ability to put in a good TTT.

Now. I'm not saying there isn't an Anglo bias. I actually think there is one. But theories like this make even carefully tempered speculation seem ridiculous by association.

P.S. Sorry Susan. I didn't mean any offence. Honestly.

its taken a while for this one to dawn on me....DAN MARTIN winning stage 9.

After Saturdays farce which leaves the Cycling World in an uproar at Froome's 'Rasmussen' impersonation and Porte following with ease....what better way than to redeem its image and calm the maddening crowd than to have the Squeaky Clean DAN MARTIN win the stage. Wow Dan Martin won so the race IS clean !

I cant believe this hasn't dawned on me until now.....it gets Kimmage off everyones back, takes the focus off 'Froome Is Armstrong' headlines and everyones comparisons to USPS and it all calms down.

And who says Dan Martin is CLEAN ? Kimmage ? I,m a fan of Kimmage and would like to trust in his declarations of 'love for Dan'.....but what proof does he have ? he keeps re-iterating that he knows Dan would never dope.....and his father would never let his son dope. How would they know ? lives in Girona I believe..isn't that where Millar lives also ?

And a clean rider with this palmares ? http://www.slipstreamsports.com/garmin-slipstream-pro-team/dan-martin

And for those who are going to ask me how this could be 'arranged'....its old as time that teams agree with one another who wins the race or riders between themselves in breakaways who is gona win.

indeed, Dan and Garmin are based in Girona, where Blanco went to train in April (in prep. for races in Italy and France ), and where Orica Greenedge are also based. Girona does magic things to clean riders.

Anyway, D. Martin's win was definitely welcomed by many.
Dutch commentators Ducrot was skeptical on Saturday ("shocked") and implying the Dawg was a doper. On Sunday he said that what he'd seen now helped to restore his faith in clean cycling.

And conversations like this:
‏@ordinaryironman
@DavidWalshST Seeing Dan Martin win, and be so open about team, cycling must be refreshing 4 somebody who has tried to be open for yrs

@DavidWalshST
@ordinaryironman The way he rides, the way he talks about doping, Dan Martin is a breath of fresh air. Talented and clever bike racer too.

the level of naivity is baffling, really. unfortunately also in the clinic. Some formidable posters are giving certain riders benefit of the doubt for no apparent reason other than clean PR talk by the riders and managers.
perception is again becoming reality.

the way he talks about doping

hehhee

we could use Bruyneel's eye test. and just do that jedi mind trick, stare into their eyes, the depths of their soul, and verify if they are riding on bread and water.

or you could see their dinner table, and check if it is gluten free bread. and see if they sneakily sneak any rice cakes into their musettes. or are those musettes white lunch bags from Lyler Hamilton, with sneaky sneaky go-fast drugs, and gas-bus.

i don't remember sky and garmin being particularly close.
vaughters has said on numerous occasions he doesn't like sky. i see no reason to doubt that. if at all, garmin are more likely to get support from the girona gang, but then again greenedge don't have anybody to help in the mountains.

Before they were #TDF13 stage winners @darylimpey & @danmartin86 (think I have a magic touch!) haha http://instagram.com/p/bgIZN8MoAr/

Click on the picture.....Even I admit that that's uncanny....Impey, Martin and Froomey in the middle. Could anyone have predicted that ? Orrrrr is there another reason they are all together ??

I just opened it ....Thats Froomey in the middle?

OMG OMG OMG It is uncanny.
Just shows what doing drugs do to you, lost his hair and it may be the glasses but I doubt he would fill out that dress so well now.

What?
During your ban, did you lose your ability to spot the Vaughters Jedi PR BS stuff that is so obviously happening? Or did you get bought off and receive a Garmin device?

This is exactly how it going down.
JV was lying when he said he hated Sky - he loves them. And you fell for it.
Who got between $1 million and $2million for Wiggins from Sky? JV of course, cash money too. He even bought himself a new wife.

Dan Martin is winning because he can be British or Irish - at the moment he is Irish to keep McQuaid happy, but watch him find his British passport if Cookson (who is funded by Sky, like Walsh & soon Kimmage and JV who got $6 million for Wiggins) gets elected.

And with all that crazy money, (Sky gave JV $9 million cash for Wiggins!!) (OMG) - JV can buy all the wins he wants and because he is playing ball with the UCI Dan wont go positive.

Remember Liege????
What happened at the end???????? The Panda!!!!!!
339lsgo.jpg

Who do you think was in the Panda outfit??? JV of course.
We know the Katusha guys will accept money for a L-B-L win.

Check the foto - look at JRods handlebars. You can clearly see JRod has his paypal account written there.
And JV is taking it down and wiring it through becaue he has loads of money - I believe he got $1100 million from Sky for Wiggins.
They are calling it the PayPal Panda now.

Its so obvious I have to add an extra O - OOMG

Seeing as this is the designated tinfoil thread, what do you guys think about the possibility that:
a) doping scandal does not adversely affect a team's marketability, or the sporting results achieved cancel out the negative coverage.
b) doping scandal may be used in some way, and deliberately courted.
...because it seems like a lot of people don't give a **** who did what as long as they win, maybe to the point that a team could safely base their business on a Ricco/Di Luca ethos.

c) am I stating the obvious (Rock Racing, Androni and Christina Watches say hello)?

Not hard to work out why I might ask this.
