4-72 has a new sponsorship with postobon.
probably it will be announced next week, for 3 years.
that means a new impulse to saldarriaga and velez project.
probably next year they will be back on the international scene as continental professional.
this is a very good news for colombian cycling.

very interesting news as movistar colombia will go to erurope later this month starting with settimana coppi bartali. it means the debut in europe for bolivian sensation oscar soliz!! also it means the third!!! movistar sponsored team riding in europe now with movistar wt, ecuador and colombia

Too much has happened in Central and South America
After San Luis, there was Independencia (in RD) (2.2) which was won by Robingson Oyola (EPM-Une)
The Vuelta a Mexico was cancelled
Then it was Vuelta a Uruguay (2.2) which was won by Oyarzún (Chile) on a ITT over Chiarello (Dataro)
Right after we got Rio Grande do Sul (2.2) where Guamá (Team Ecuador) won over Chiarello

In the Colombian national calendar (skipping reports on other races), there is a new race: Vuelta al Gran Santander, with the participation of Sevilla, Rujano and the Rojas brothers.
After 2 stages:
JP Suarez
Diego Ochoa (+11)
R Oyola (+23)
P Herrera (+53)
J Betancur (+1.09)

Sevilla is 8th at 1.59
Rujano is 13th at 2.20
Both Rojas are behind

Well is on TV right now and you may catch the stream http://www.canaltro.com/Nuestra-region- ... 5-10-33-53
Rujano is losing time today
The race will finish on an ITT 22Km long

I dont remember if it was reported already, but has the invited teams for Vuelta a Colombia been named already?

Yes, here's the complete line-up for every team. Airgas declined, finally.

So, who are the favorites for the ITT races tomorrow at the Toronto Pan American Games? 20 kms for the girls, 40 kms for the guys.

Camila Valbuena/María Luisa Calle and Fernando Gaviria/Álex Cano will be riding for Colombia, that's all I know.

Also, Carlos Betancur will be at the road race on saturday, apparently... 165 kms (82,5 for the ladies).

La selección de Colombia para disputar los Campeonatos del mundo de Richmond:

Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team), Rigoberto Urán (Etixx Quick Step), Sergio Luis Henao (Team Sky), el campeón nacional Robinson Chalapud (Orgullo Antioqueño), Winner Anacona (Movistar Team), Járlinson Pantano (IAM Cycling), Daniel Jaramillo (Jami Hagens Berman), Alex Cano (Team Colombia), Esteban Chaves (Orica GreenEDGE), Carlos Quintero (Team Colombia), Brayan Ramírez (Team Colombia), Julián Arredondo Moreno (Trek Factory Racing)

En sub23: Fernando Gaviria (Coldeportes - Claro), Jhonathan Ospina (GW Shimano), Juan Sebastián Molano (Team Colombia), Daniel Martínez (Team Colombia), Jonathan Restrepo (Coldeportes - Claro), Wilmar Paredes (Team Manzana Postobón), Álvaro José Hodeg (Coldeportes - Claro) y Juan Felipe Osorio (Team Manzana Postobón)

En sub19: Adrián Camilo Bustamante (Proactiva Aguas de Tunja), Julián Cardona Tabares (Orgullo Antioqueño), Javier Ignacio Montoya Montoya (Orgullo Antioqueño), Harold Alonso Tejada Canacué (Orgullo Antioqueño)

Actually Anacona is also from Boyacá, Pantano from Valle, Chalapud from Nariño, Chaves and Ramirez from Bogotá, Quintero from Caldas... The rest is from Antioquia. However, Colombia doesn't have a team for Richmond: It's a sprint and has cobbles.
If it were me selecting, I would take Rubiano, Uran, Pantano, Henao, Avila, Duque and Arango.
The last two would be hard to select given that the local sprinters are not used to over 200Km... So it would equivalent to have Serpa and Arredondo than Castañeda, Roldán or Suárez (keeping Gaviria and Molano for the U23)

In other news, Roldan won the 3rd stage in Tour do Rio. A small break got to the finish with 49 secs ahead of the peloton

The lanterne rouge for the stage is the guy that shone in San Luis. Well, he's getting used to end minutes behind the pack since Uruguay.. or simply DNF

i hope that chaves , quintana, henao and the other escarabajos in good shape after the vuelta do not waste time in richmond ( almost flat and cobble) and stay in europe to prepare well lombardia that it is one week earlier and suits their skill.
imho, no intelligent thing to accumulate transatlantic flights and jet lag before a monument they should contest.
