And Jimmi is back to light it up again! Giro has a good field this year, but the Giro got nothing on Tachira this year.

What do we know about this Ivan Ramiro Sosa?

So far he is doing very well at Táchira, finished 3rd on a stage and today he was 4th at the MTF of La Grita. He is leading the youth classification and he should be in the top-5 of the GC.

He turned 19 on Halloween and rides for Androni.
Last year he rode for the Italian U23 team Maltinti Lampadari and finished in the top 10 in every single Italian race that he raced besides Ruota d'Oro that was won by Albanese.

He also won the Ossario del Pasubio - Schio, he already got impressive results in Italian U23 races at the age of 18 and seems to be a big talent.

ivan sosa was born in fugasuga cundinamarca and he was very strong uphill in the vuelta porvenir in 2015 , winning the queen stage.
he is a real good climber and seems able to improve against the clock.
last year he was very deceiving in the tour de l' avenir.
he has yet to complete his physical maturation but he is a good prospect .
i hope androni will give him the time to grow without too much stress and pressure. he has yet to turn 20, being born in 1997.

and got 2nd in two others (of which one he thought he won but got pipped on the line)

Very talented climber! I personally thought he was not ready for turning pro yet (that he had to grow on other aspect such as speed in the pro peloton and speed on the flat without being spend for the climbs) but his start is very hopeful

Compared to San Luis, San Juan is more hotter and arid, plus some of the flat stages are exposed to crosswinds

I wonder if Babyface Sevilla can pull a Horner here.

While a few more spicy stages would obviously be great, I think the MTF will create pretty big gaps. It's long (15km? 20km?) and it's the first race of the season. I can also imagine that the road conditions are not quite the Nürburgring. Don't think the TT will be too significant for the overall.

Sorry to be a pedant, the Nürburgring is famous for having notoriously bad road conditions (at least the old one is)

Sprinters: Gaviria, Richeze (will get a gift), van Poppel, Guardini, Haedo, Ruffoni, Marini, Gavazzi, Viviani, Angarita... not bad.

For GC it is wide open. Short Itt and a not too hard climb, but still an long one. My guess is Sepulveda, if he shows up in his San Luis shape of 2016. But I don't know if the Argentine national team will work for him or Rosas, who won the race in the last three years. All the top Argentines will be here, except Dani "Froome of January" Diaz.

If Daniel Diaz managed to beat Contador & Van Garderen, then Laureano Rosas should have no problems dealing with Mollema and Nibali, who are both aiming for the Giro.

What's up with that Rosas guy? I've just read some hype about him this year, and as far as I can tell he's a decent time trialist who's fast as well... but no climbing results according to cqranking the last couple of seasons.

EDIT: okay, winner of the last three editions, fair enough. But he still has no UCI mountain results.
