Off topic but as there's nothing going on..
Just finished second season and felt pretty much the same way but it the dock stuff does get more interesting and towards the end the focus shifts back to the drug stuff.

Yeah, I prefer the blow to the hookers too.

Does season 3 combine the two? :p

I'm about half way through the second season but struggling a bit as I'm finding it a bit dull compared to the first... is it worth pushing on, or scrap it and jump to the third?

I bailed out on season 2 as well and haven't watched since then.

Season one was epic. HBO at its finest.

I know you were joking. And i can tell you were paraphrasing armstrong, even though i was not familiar with the speech.

hence why i put your post in my hall of fame of great posts in last 30 mins (above)
I noticed that and though it meant that you got it, but not before I had posted, oh well.

Rolland ftw.
Would like to see Kiryienka win it though. One of the hardest working guys in the peloton. Every DS would love to have him. Where will he go if Caisse shuts down?

IMHO Andy is stronger this year than in '09. AC might be a little weaker. Andy had nothing to gain going flat out last year in the TT.
I wouldn't read much in the prologue results, as it was too wet and short to give a real indication of form.
IMHO 1:30 is what Andy can defend. Question is, can he get those extra 50 seconds?

No.
Conta is going to be better by the weekend and Andy has been fetching a lot of Levi, today.

The longest short stage ever.
Eurosport doing 72kms without a commercial break.
Too hot and the sticky, heavy roads still to come.

Saddle sores all round for the PC watchers.

If you are really finding it dull (and i did the first time, though now it is my favourite season, the way it plays out, its like a shakesperian play ) then skip to season 3 and then come back to season 2 afterwards, (to truly appreciate it, you need to watch whole thing a second time at least, since its difficult to understand the slang the first time round, and many of the refferences)

You can be as overconfident as you like, I just hope AC doesn't share the sentiment. Confidence: good. Overconfidence: fatal.

I was going for humor there....

My dad stopped watching as he complained all the characters mumbled too much. And yet he enjoys Sean Kelly's Eurosport commentary

Season 3 is a lot like season 1, def a good thing.

Push through. It picks up on the back half.

Top 3 predictions for today?

1. Bouet
2. Deveneyns
3. Pineau

Based on absolutely nothing.

I can play that game:

1) Kyrienka (to attack right before the end of the sour champ, arriving solo)
2) Aerts can't keep the wheel of Kyrienka in the descent
3) Rolland, because he is french

My mum has to watch that show with subtitles on. She obviously doesn't listen to enough hip-hop.

I loved all of season two, but it's definitely more slow-paced and methodical than most of the others.

a lot of it is on a far higher level than hip hop, only in a slang way. Avon refferences Day of the Jackal, "the young uns" use chess metaphores, omar and prop joes words are often very lucid, like "say your piece".

Ob topic, its boring but im hoping for fireworks if not on the climb, then surely on the descent, when a stage win is at stake.

Has an autobus formed yet?

Yawn... The Wire is so overrated

I think it's a bit overrated too. Not a patch on the Sopranos, but still a lot better than most of the dross on tv.

Days like today commentators really earn their day's pay I reckon.

This is just obvious trolling.

I'm not saying its a bad show or anything. I've seen quite a bit of it and it's pretty good... I was just disappointed since I had been led to believe its the greatest, awesomest show, EVAR!!!!

Every time I read 'Special Breschel' on the CN ticker I throw up in the back of my mouth a little bit.

You must not know Ghostface ;)
My wife didn't get a lot of things that I could explain simply from hip-hop experience ;) Not just the slang itself, but the entire way of talking with metaphors.

But it idd goes further. We watched it on the computer and stopped very often to google certain references. (I can't stand it if I don't know what their saying/meaning)

/on topic: hey, Museeuw is on Sporza. zzzzzzz
